DieselDaisy Posted July 26, 2017 Share Posted July 26, 2017 (edited) Very much in the neoclassical style consisting of a stately march, a motet, a vivat and another motet, It was believed to be lost but sometime in the 1970s or '80s they found the score in an attic somewhere, and duly a recording was produced. A very nice piece indeed - the first motet is particularly striking. Napoleon 1er incidentally was crowned at Notre Dame, so this is where this music would have been played (Napoleon famously took the crown from the Pope's hands and rested it on his head as, even the power of the church is subservient to his will).
