Which is rich because you get paid to do what the coach says, and he gets paid to get the best out of the squad. But that relationship became pretty toxic, and certainly irreparable. And they were so inconsistent. How do they get thrashed by Spurs at home and City + Liverpool away, and yet go to Juventus and win? Mou's style was not United. And increasingly it felt like the players were not buying what he was trying to get them to do. United supporters have hardly been historically fond of Tottenham either. Come to that no one really likes Tottenham now I think about it. I wonder why. With Arsenal you often get 'i support 'x' team but I admire your game' or with Liverpool you get 'i admire your history' or their support/atmosphere...even with United there's a certain grudging respect of achievement though rarely for anything else. Len Cnut Posted January 5, 2019 Author Share Posted January 5, 2019 I'd like Liverpool to win if not Arsenal (which it ain't gonna be anyway), for nostalgic reasons more than anything, when I grew up, in my very formative years, they were THE team. Plus they play great football on their day and they have great support. Its lovely to see, their support. They're having success and their fuckin' fans show up EVERY fuckin' time, whereas a lot of the big clubs experiencing success seem to slightly jaded support.
