While that is possible, I believe the 2000 mix of Hard Skool was much closer to whatever "final" CD era mix they had in 2014 (or whatever). I'm basing that assumption on that most of the other mixes from around that time that were included on the 2008 album were not changed vastly, at least not enough to be considered re-worked, and there was little or no need to, due to the lineup around the time the album dropped. I was actually thinking about how the 2008 mix of Jackie Chan aka Hardschool sounded. If I were a betting man, I'd say it was close to the 2000 mix, with the usual amount of additional or over production the rest of the album suffered from, but still had all of Robin's and whomever else's leads intact, Brain instead of Josh on drums, and perhaps a more elaborate introl so it just doesn't cut in from a guitar. I wonder if they had the extended/repeated chorus vocals in the end that the official version had.

From the rehearsals footage we have heard, I feel like Slash plays a solo similar in structure to Finck’s. The best case, is he’s playing Finck’s solo because they kept it in the mix. I realize this is unlikely. The next best case is Slash plays Finck’s solo. The most likely case is he probably plays his own solo, inspired by Finck’s work.

I agree that Slash did great work on Absurd. Aside from Brain’s drums being too low in the mix, that’s a fun song. Hard Skool is a mess. Sounds more like a drum machine. I think even Frank could do better than whatever did the drums for the released Hard Skool, such a shame too as Josh’s drums are amazing. I’m sure Brain’s take during the CD era was too. My guess is they will have physical media ready around the time they release the next single or singles. Why waste production on just one song? They should consolidate, minimally with two new songs like they did last time. Ideally, they will have more because 4 tracks on a CD gets boring fast, especially when two are live.

Not really, at least not the hard core conspiracy people. They are the ones talking about chemtrails, moon is a projection, flat earth, new world order, everything is a false flag/distraction. I have an open mind, and have met some crazy conspiracy theory people. Some are too far gone to even try to talk any sense into. Certain personalities/disorders/mental issues are attracted to conspiracy theories, which is why most folks who are into that believe in most of them, and not just one or two, which the latter is more than reasonable.

Brain's drums on the disc with the three versions are fucking amazing, I wish they mixed Axl better on that disc. Aside from Perhaps having two verses repeated, it's solid as is, IMO, I suppose that works for that song. I sure as fuck hope they keep Brain's drums on Atlas, and with Perhaps, I assume they will use Brain's take instead of Josh's take. Unless Frank did drums for either. They mixed Brain's drums on Absurd far too low, IMO. It's painful listening the the 2008 album, then the two new singles and comparing the quality of mixing. The 2008 album being mixed pretty damn well, except for the bass IMO it needed 1-2 dB boost but aside from that it and the mastering was wonderful. The entire CD 1-2 with no Bumblefoot (Bucket's parts restored) with Tommy's bass cranked up a bit, oh that would be the bee's knees!

After hearing Atlas, I couldn't agree more on it being an odd single. I remember playing it for a few co-workers years ago along with Hardschool and while they both thought Hardschool was ok, they said Atlas was boring. It was underwhelming, after being hyped up for years. I played them one of the versions from 2001 with Brains drums, those mixes had Axl too low in the mix, so it was not an ideal version of that song. I like the RM1 version, but the 2001 mix that was on one of the CDs with Zodiac was more polished. The part of the chorus: I'd be the last to say, don't follow your heart, but there's more to what it takes to be a man" has a bit of an odd flow in the latter part but it's a rough mix and has probably been re-worked since it's been 22 fucking years the last version most of us heard was mixed. It still gets me we got a 2000 mix of Zodiac labeled with "no vox" and a 2001 CD with Zodiac without that tag, but no vocals. Damn, missed that one!

Hopefully what we heard in the sound check is Slash playing Robin's solo, that by some miracle will make it into the final version. I hope they keep Bucket's work on Soul Monster as well. (That's all that the Village mix needed, and Axl's vocals of course) @Brodie rest in peace. I know you were upset by the thought of Bumblefoot recording over Bucket's Soul Monster parts, now, we have an even more dire situation with Slash possibly messing that song up. I hope you can enjoy all what has found you over the years in heaven. <3
