  1. Man, I didn't know you saw them in 1991. That is so cool. That is a great collection of gigs. Even that 2002 one is considered the best of that tour
  2. Happy birthday to Axl. The last year was a overall good one for the band and his GNR legacy
  3. Oh man, that would have been awesome! It was a great show- Axl sounded unbelievable. Our seats were pretty good, too. Would have been good to meet you
  4. I am just really happy people who have not had the chance to see them will be able to get one more shot. That is always a big upside when these legacy acts go out on a new tour. Personally, I am pretty content with my AC/DC run- 2009 Black Ice (on the floor and it was awesome!), Rock or Bust 2015 in the rafters, and Axl/DC in 2016 from the lower bowl. Even got to meet the entire band sans Cliff in 2016! Pretty damn good trifecta of shows if you ask me, especially that 2009 show. That was mind-blowing with the Back in Black lineup and the train on- stage. A quintessential AC/DC show, it felt like Donnington had come to life before my very eyes. That being said, if they came to Detroit I would strongly consider one last hurrah.
  5. Remember when @dontdamnmeuyi2015thought Squid Games featured real murders because it took place in South Korea? I remember
  6. I like the title track a lot. I didn't think it was a bad first single choice. Cool riff, tons of guitar solos, Axl scream at the start, and it is short and to- the- point. My biggest issue was keeping that intro for the single. What were they thinking?!
  7. I'd rather be doing nostalgia tours and putting music in insurance commercials than do what he did
  8. Plus, she has already almost been around for decades, and she is bigger than ever. She has already cemented her legacy. The fact is, no other artist in history has done what her latest tour has. Not only is it all completely sold-out stadiums with multiple dates in each city, but tickets are also north of a thousand dollars for a nosebleed. That is unprecedented. The Beatles didn't do that. Michael Jackson didn't do that. Elvis didn't do that. Led Zeppelin, Madonna, The Rolling Stones, U2, or Pink Floyd didn't do that. Britney Spears, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, or any country star didn't do that. GNR certainly never did it. Some of those you can argue were in different times in their hey- day, but they still didn't do it. I am not saying she is the biggest or most influential music artist of all time, but she warrants a spot on the list, now. Besides, who cares? Not in This Lifetime is one of the highest grossing tours of all time. GNR is doing fine, and it doesn't matter if they aren't Swift levels. EDIT- I know I am coming across as a Taylor Swift fan, but the truth is, the ol' Swizzler kind of annoys me. I just think it insane how utterly massive she is now.
  9. It is just crazy. I only own three copies of Appetite on viny- wait a minute....
  10. Taylor Swift doesn't bug me much. I don't care for her music, but it is just pop music. It is more of the state of mainstream rock that sucks right now. Sure, there is a ton of good, new rock music out there but you have to dig for it. Look at the bands that were in the spotlight for the Grammy's last night- Disturbed, Ghost (for a cover!), Metallica, Greta Van Fleet, Paramore, Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Ageetc. It is all either dinosaurs or meh stuff or not even rock music! The song that one "Best Rock Song" isn't even a rock song! I know the Grammys arent a good metric, but still,,,
  11. Streaming also means there is more market saturation and why is it sad? Is it any more sad talking about an 80s rock band online every day for 16 years? It’s fun to discuss music on here for me; she’s a big part of music right now. That’s all a fact
  12. I mean, to us it is. To a Taylor Swift fan, probably not. They’re completely different genres that cater to different people.
  13. I’m not her target audience, and wouldn’t say I’m a fan but she is a monster. There has been nobody in my lifetime that touches her in terms of stardom. The fact that she’s doing it in the streaming and internet era makes it even more insane. She is like Beatles, Elvis, Madonna, Michael Jackson- tier in terms of pop culture awareness and influence. Edit- She has made albums cool again for young people and they eat up her actual music like we do for the artists we like. It isn’t just about a flash in the pan single. Again, I don’t listen to her or care about her music, but to deny her insane popularity and influence, is hilarious.
  14. I like the final Hard Skool a lot. They only thing I prefer on the demo is the drumming Monsters is far and away the best Guns song in many years. I take back what I said; that should have made CD A double album would have worked, Disc 1 Chinese Democracy Shackler’s Revenge Better Atlas Shrugged Street of Dreams Riad and the Bedouins IRS Zodiac This I Love The General Monsters Disc 2 Madagascar Hard Skool Going Down Absurd There Was a Time Catcher in the Rye Scraped Perhaps Oklahoma Sorry If the World Tonto Prostitute
  15. I have zero problems with any ChiDem track. Scraped is the weakest for me but I don’t think it’s awful. I even think Riad is a pretty rad song. I put Prostitute, Street of Dreams, Madagascar, AND Shacklers in pretty high regard. I disagree with people who say they’d put all the Chinese takeout songs on the album and replace existing songs. Only one I would do is Scraped with Hard Skool. Even though I like Perhaps and Monsters more than Scraped, that slot should go to a rocker. If anything, the takeout songs we got and are getting could have been added so Chinese could have been a double album with the top songs dispersed between both records. Doesn’t matter now
  16. I really hope this album is good. If anyone could benefit from a band lineup change, it’s Slash. Those last two Conspirators records are very safe
  17. I don’t think any of the Chili records since Stadium Arcadium have been incredible. There are good parts, but that 2000s run is their Dark Side- The Wall run imo. So I’m happy John is back because they are basically a legacy band at this point
  18. The two new Chili albums are meh but I do think Eddie is a great song. I’d rather they tour with John than have Josh any day of the week. Still need to see them with John Another one id put on the bad list is X Japan One of my favorite bands, and one of the biggest in Japanese history. I’m glad they reunited because it meant I got to see them. It was a great show. But the reunion was a 10- year slog of delays and broken promises that culminated in another breakup with bad blood in 2018. Their bassist just passed away, too.
  19. Forgot this one, My Chemical Romance I guess these guys became the millennial poster band rock for scene and emo. They faded with their break- up, bided their time, and reunited with a vengeance. During the height of their career they mainly played theaters. Due to the passage of time and their demographic being grown up with disposable income, their reunion trek was in sold- out arenas with tickets that cost $400 initially. Damn, what a win for them. Covid delayed things but they fulfilled their obligations and even put out a new, well- received song for their fans. They had rotating sets, too. I’d say that is a successful reunion
