  1. I totally agree about RHCP. John seems to come and go as he pleases. He doesn't play anything off One Hot Minute, the Josh albums or most of the early albums. And everyone treats him like a God. I liked the Josh albums. The setlists during his era were awesome. The two new albums with John aren't all that.
  2. Yeah that was cool. Still waiting for them to put the whole song up.
  3. Not sure but it's a small world. Izzy was Gilby's first friend when he moved to LA. It's totally possible Gilby knew Steven years before he joined GN'R.
  4. I really wanted like it but it's shit. It doesn't help that I prefer Monsters as a song. Personally I would've preferred a video for Monsters similar to Perhaps.
  5. Lol. I suspect if that's your hope you're setting yourself up for disappointment. Of course I'd love to be proven wrong.
  6. I've only been lucky enough to see GN'R in four times as I live in NZ but here they are. 4: Auckland 29th June 2007. Even tho Axl and Dizzy were the only classic era members left I was excited to see this show. I wanted to see and hear what this line up was like. Plus it was a year before Chinese Democracy dropped so it was cool to hear songs of it played. The band sounded tight and I loved Dizzy's piano cover of Don't Dream It's Over by kiwi band Crowded House. Angry Anderson and Sebastian Bach were great as the support acts and both guested during the GN'R set. 3: Auckland 6th February 1993. I was 15 and this was my first big concert. NZ band Dead Flowers and Skid Row were the support acts. There was a sound issue at the start which got fixed pretty quick. But all three bands and the general atmosphere was just incredible. Top night. My parents friends owned a go kart track where Slash and Gilby went the night before. I was one of a very lucky few who got to go down and hang. Got to meet and get Gilby and Slash's autographs which probably meant as much if not more than the show. Only thing that sucked is Axl rocked up shortly after I left so just missed out on meeting him. 2: Wellington 2nd February 2017. The weather was shit. Rained all thru the show. But I didn't care. Like most I never could've dreamed Axl n Slash would make up and share a stage again and after a year back together they were in NZ. Epic show despite the weather. They played just shy of three hours and they played Coma. 1: Wellington 8th December 2022. Beautiful sunny NZ summer weather this time. This show got delayed about a year cos of COVID so everyone was pretty fucking excited. Another great show and set. Band played well over there hours. Axl was in a great mood.
  7. What if the line up of Axl, Slash, Duff, Dizzy, Matt and Gilby stayed together and released a bunch of albums?
  8. I'd say it was more frustration with Axl from around 95 onwards. In 93 they were still touring, they released The Spaghetti Incident and Duff released Believe In Me. In 94 Gilby released Pawnshop Guitars and GN'R released Sympathy For The Devil (with Gilby sadly replaced by Paul). From late 94/early 95 with everyone except Dizzy either being fired or quitting just leaving Axl with no one to answer to the rot began to set in.
  9. Merry Christmas from NZ. I've been getting into the spirit by watching my favourite Xmas movies. Die Hard 1 and 2 of course.
  10. Just to add some context. Axl had strep throat but still stepped up and played two charity concerts that benefit young people with intellectual and physical disabilities. And it was only Jungle from the first show where he completely loses his voice. Axl gets a lot of shit for a lot of things. Some deserved. Some not. I don't know why everyone harps on about this show.
  11. Well I voted the first option. But ideally release the best of the CD leftovers with Slash, Duff n Melissa adding their touch. Then an album of all new material.
  12. Well it's always been Axl's band and he has the final say. So him.
  13. No disrespect to Beta. Yeah her promotion to now former manager was gradual. I'm sure the same was the case for Fernando. If they've acquired all this experience then it's pretty embarrassing. I'm familiar of the history of past managers. At least between say 86-99 we got a bunch of studio albums, a live album, a concert on two videos and three making of videos. What have we gotten from TB's era of management? The Chinese Democracy album, Appetite For Democracy two years after the shows and several very pricey editions of Appetite and Illusions each released a year after their actual anniversaries.
  14. Come on. I think you knew what I meant by lack of experience. Who else has team Brazil worked with and/or managed besides GN'R? Just cos someone was a good housekeeper and you grew fond of her kids doesn't mean the housekeeper and then her son are management material. Yeah even tho Axl has mellowed considerably I don't imagine it'd be easy to make him do anything. All the more reason to have someone more qualified and his equal to have the management job. Agree also about Fernando's lack of communication skills and antagonistic attitude to fans. And those allegations are a worry and not the kind of publicity that the band want.
  15. What should they release next? A fucking album already. I'm amazed that they never cashed in on the success of the NITL tour with a double live album/Blu-ray/DVD.
  16. I agree. I love the Col Parker and Rockstar Supernova albums too. Gilby's last solo album The Gospel Truth is really good too.
  17. Has anyone else been watching the new Dr Who specials. David Tennant has returned for three specials before he'll regenerate into Ncuti Gatwa. And Ncuti makes his full debut in a Xmas special.
  18. Sadly yes. The internet and Facebook is full of toxic and unhinged people. I like watching Dr Who for instance. The last showrunner Chris Chibnall cast the first female to play the Dr and tried to add to the canon of the show. I got threatened and insulted a bunch of times just for saying I enjoyed aspects of Jodie Whittaker's portrayal and some of the newer stories. Some folks are nuts and can't respect opinions and have intelligent conversations. Ron seemed like a pretty cool guy, was an excellent guitar player and in this instance was trying to interact with and make a fan happy. So fucking what if one whole time he missed a few notes. Anyone who claims to be a fan of something or someone and makes death threats is a piece of shit. There's absolutely no excuse.
  19. It's rock n roll for fucks sake. It's better when it's raw and imperfect. For the most part Bumble did an amazing job. It's disgusting that anyone would use death threats.
  20. And eat Taco Bell. C'mon. You forgot his favourite thing 🤣.
  21. Gilby's a classy guy. He's never badmouthed anyone in GN'R or burnt bridges.
  22. I wish Dizzy and/or ex guitarist Gilby would come play in NZ.
  23. Matt got fired or left when he put Paul Huge/Tobias in his place when Paul badmouthed Slash's Snakepit. Gilby got let go but they continued to use his image without paying him for that and other things. They didn't answer his calls so he was forced to sue to get paid. That's why Axl childishly didn't use any photos of Gilby's face in the Live Era 87-93 booklet and listed him and Matt as additional musicians. Stupid when all the fans know that they play on most of the album and were indeed band members.
  24. Gilby's not on the same level as Matt 🤣🤣🤣🤣. No sorry you're right. He's a few levels up. Gilby had already been on record labels and released albums and EPs with two bands before joining GN'R. Since leaving GN'R Gilby's played with, recorded or produced the likes of Nancy Sinatra, MC5, Heart, LA Guns, The Bronx and others. I think he's done ok.
  25. You mean it's weird that they haven't asked Gilby again? Yeah it is. But they asked Matt to appear to and he chose not to and they didn't ask him again. Tho Matt claimed Fernando said they'd cover his flights and accommodation but wouldn't pay him to perform. So perhaps understandably he said no.
