  1. If we're still a way off a new studio album why don't they release a new double best of on CD. They could have songs from Chinese Democracy, Oh My God, Absurd, Hard Skool Perhaps, Shadow Of Your Love, Move To The City (acoustic). A remastered version of Ain't Going Down as a previously unreleased track. That would be way better than this.
  2. Well I'm going to see Tim Finn live next week. So I'm listening to a mix of Split Enz, Crowded House, Finn Brothers and his solo stuff. He's 71 but has cranked out four new studio albums in the last coupla years. Always puts on a great live show too. https://youtu.be/k5licW1bnWc?si=EErYpcCahcqjA0vx
  3. Worst was RHCP on their By The Way tour. Played for less than 90 minutes. Nothing of the first three albums with Sherman and Slovak. And nothing off One Hot Minute. Best - wow so many. Guns N Roses 93, 07, 17 and 22. Rockstar Supernova 07. Faith No More on their King For A Day tour. Pearl Jam on their Vitalogy tour with Neil and Tim Finn guesting. The Cult and Rage Against The Machine at the Big Day Outs in the mid 90s. Every Tim Finn, Neil Finn, Finn Brothers, Crowded House and Split Enz show I've seen between 93 and now. Particularly Neil Finn And Friends (Tim Finn, Johnny Marr, Eddie Vedder and Phil Selway and Ed O Brien from Radiohead). Jimmy Barnes 93 I think. Some great kiwi bands I've seen - The Exponents, Dave Dobbyn, Head Like A Hole, Supergroove, Dead Flowers, Headless Chickens. Next gig I'm going to is Tim Finn next week. Dude is 71 and he's released four new studio albums in the last coupla years. He could teach Axl a few things about motivation 🤣.
  4. Pretty much what the title says? What's the next non GN'R concert your going to? Next week I'm going to Wellington to see Tim Finn. Ex Split Enz, Crowded House and lots of other stuff. He's 71 but still rocks live. He's released four new studio albums in the last coupla years two. Seriously Axl could get some motivational tips from Tim Finn 🤣.
  5. I've always liked Frank. He's got the right mix of Steven's groove and Matt's technicality. Seen Guns with him in 07, 17 and 22. Thought he was great each time.
  6. Love it or hate it a released studio version already exists. We don't need another studio version. Finish the CD leftovers and then move on to all new material.
  7. I really like it. This Don't Look Like Vegas, I Celebrate and Dirty Bomb are my favourite tracks. Dizzy's got a surprisingly good voice. The albums both melodic and hard rocking. I like to listen to this and Gilby's The Gospel Truth album back to back. Both great fun albums.
  8. I love Dr Who. Pertwee was my first Dr. Grew up watching him T Baker and Davison. My favourite classic Dr is Patrick Troughton tho. There's just something magical about him. Tennant is great but my favourite Nu Who Dr is Peter Capaldi.
  9. I don't know if it was toxic or not. But the Guns of 85-94 was a bunch of friends who got together naturally. Dizzy wasn't an original member but knew the band from their early club days. Gilby said Izzy was his first friend when he moved to LA. So it was kinda fitting he ended up replacing his friend. From the late 90s to 09 it was Axl hand picking musicians who were talented enough but had nothing really in common.
  10. Izzy left 32 years ago. Why be pissed? Of course it'd be nice he appeared at some shows but it's not the end of the world if he doesn't. Remember when he was jamming with Slash, Duff n Matt before it evolved into Velvet Revolver. As soon as he knew it was about to become a huge band like Guns he bolted. He'd rather ride his dirt bikes, live the quiet life and collect his royalties.
  11. Axl, Slash and to a degree Duff are really all most casual fans and ticket buyers know and care about. Hell cos he's been there for 33 years straight probably more people know Dizzy than Izzy n Steven. I have no doubt that if they did marketed it right it might sell a few more tickets in the short term. I don't see it happening tho.
  12. Obviously everyones here cos we love GN'R and collect an insane amount of lithos, t shirts hoodies, bootlegs etc... My question is what's your second and maybe even third biggest non GN'R things you follow and collect. For me it's Dr Who. Got all the classic series on VHS, DVDs and bit by bit on Blu Ray. All of Nu Who on a combination of DVD and Blu-ray. Then there's novels, annuals, other books, comics, graphic novels, the Dr Who magazine. Got some of the Big Finish audios too. Plus a ridiculous amount of DW t shirts. After that it's NZ bands Split Enz and Crowded House. Fronted by Tim and Neil Finn. There was a fanclub that put out a lot of great live shows on CD and DVD. Plus books and other fanclub only collectibles.
  13. Personally I like Frank's drumming. He's the right mix of Steven's groove and Matt's technicality. I think the next album will be a mix of Brain and Frank drumming on different tracks. A bit like the Chinese Democracy album. I don't think it's anything to do with Frank not being good enough. Some older songs just have Brain's drumming and there's no need to replace it. When they get around to writing an album of all new material I'm sure Frank will be all over it. If we get an album of CD leftovers with both Brain and Frank what's the problem? Their both great drummers with something to offer. It just means we can enjoy them both.
  14. Ok so I've read a lot of comments speculating how it must feel for Slash n Duff to have to work on CD leftovers before doing all new songs. On the flipside I wonder how it must feel for some of the ex Nu GN'R members to see material from their era finally getting released but without them on it. I mean that's got to be a bit of bitter pill to swallow. Except for Brain who some of his drums have been left alone.
  15. Hey we all dream of totally new music written and recorded by the current line up. But we all know how Axl takes his time in the studio. So if Slash, Duff n Melissa adding their touches to unreleased CD leftovers will get us an album out earlier I say go for it. Then let's hope for an all new album.
  16. You don't think The General will be on the next album? Whilst I won't be surprised if some old NU GN'R members feature on the next album (like Brain) I doubt we'll get any official music released that doesn't feature Slash.
  17. Wow. I'm very pleasantly surprised that they've actually done what normal bands do and released a music video. Not everything has to be epic and expensive like November Rain. This video is simple but effective. And we get to see lots of all the band.
  18. Fuck me. They've actually bothered to do a music video for Perhaps. And they're releasing it with The General. Hopefully it gets a CD single release as well as just vinyl. What next? Dare we hope that we're close to getting an actual album?
  19. Let's not get excited. So far we know that they couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery.
  20. Haha. Bro we all get frustrated with aspects of this band. Just enjoy all the other great music that's out there in the meantime.
  21. I remember Axl addressed the whole going from two to three guitarists once. He said that if you go and look at the album credits from Appetite - Spaghetti there's always been three guitar tracks. Izzy or Gilby playing rhythm guitar. But Slash would play a lead guitar track and then another rhythm guitar track too. So having three guitarists helped recreate the songs more accurately live. Or something to that effect. I get the point he was trying to make. But I think when you've got two talented players like Slash n Richard (or Izzy or Gilby) that two guitarists is fine.
  22. There's definitely some wit to be found on the Chinese Democracy album. Take the title track. "It would take a lot more time than you have got for masturbation, even with an iron fist 🤣".
  23. Agreed. I mean sure it's a covers album. But all the instruments and vocals are crystal clear. It sounds like six guys playing live in the studio. I know that's not how it was done. But that's how good it sounds.
