lol, I totally agree.  I like your avatar too, I haven't seen that picture in a long time.  It was one of the stupidest "Metal Edge" photo shoots that GnR ever did!  lol

Lol thanks. It's one of my favorite photo shoots. It's completely ridiculous, but also kinda adorable. And charmingly homoerotic.

Anyway, Axl sounds great in these rehearsal/sound check videos and I'm glad because I recently bought a cheap ticket for the concert in Vienna from a disgruntled AC/DC fan. I had no intention of going originally, but what the hell, once in a lifetime opportunity and all that.

At least I hope it's a once in a lifetime opportunity because I'm one of those not exactly thrilled about the whole AC/DC thing and I hope it doesn't turn into anything more permanent. The one thing I would want more than anything is new music by Axl, Slash, Izzy and Duff. Not endless greatest hits tours with two bands at once.

It's sad if they don't care. That means they are there only for the money

Yeah, there's an option that they're there only for the money and they don't give much damn (although it may also hurt the financial aspect of the tour since the hype is pretty much dead and the reunion was supposed to be the biggest event in music in decades or so everyone claimed before it actually took place) but I doubt it very much.

I think they care and they're pretty much pissed, especially Slash.

Some minor lyrics mistakes in Back in Black..... but he sounds awesome !!!

I noticed this, but it actually makes more sense the way he sings it.

Brian says Nine lives, cat eyes, abusing every one of them

Axl says cats eyes, nine lives, abusing every one of them. Doesn't flow as well but it makes sense when read and not sang lol

You keep trying to project your dislike of axl/dc onto Slash, when there's nothing to suggest he feels the same as you at all. He and Duff have literally said nothing, they've not even given a clue to the GNR:CSI team.

We don't know what the state of relations is between these guys, but when Courtney Love starts talking about reconciliation, how she once picked on Axl and how they've now all patched it up. "We're all in this together." She said, in support of axl/dc. I think it's safe to say a fair amount of discussion and soulseeking has gone on behind the scenes. So maybe things between the guys are not as tentative or negative as you're portraying them to be.

I'm not into acdc at all, but can see that Axl being active and putting himself out there in any way, is a good thing for everyone. It's not the zero sum game that you're framing.

Think of the huge backlash there was to Axl working with ac/dc when it was announced. And that was from many rock fans. If he can win some of those people over, show that he's still an exciting frontman and singer. Maybe some of those detractors will then be interested in seeing GNR this summer. People keep saying the acdc fanbase is massive, that they've had one of the biggest tours ever, yet fail to see the cross promotion potential of Axl working with them.

Besides that, the fact that he's willing and able to do interviews and promo for ac/dc bodes well for Guns. It means it's likely that some GNR promo will happen eventually. Probably closer to the dates. It would be too ridiculous for it not to happen.

^ Yes, you're right. I remember seeing some pictures of that shoot with his watermarks on them.

As for Slash and Duff, I really hope it doesn't bother them and that they're happy for Axl and everything, but I'm a tiny bit skeptical. I can already see Slash writing another book in 10 years and going "All things considered, I already realized that this reunion was not going to work right from the start, when Axl decided AC/DC was more important to him than our own band..."

Bad timing isn't it, sort of taken away from the most exciting time in GNR history with everything being about Axl singing for another band. If it happened last year he wouldn't have a broken foot & after the excitement of Axl singing for AcDc we'd get the excitement that GNR are reuniting. That's the way it should have gone down.

Maybe just a bit of a power play by Axl. To show the boys that he is still in charge. He will go to 20 rehearsals and play with another band while the guys in GnR will rehearse without him and they will have to sit back and wait for him to get finished with his side project.

Sure, because Axl sealed their mouths shut and they can't say anything. So they can only get pissed in total silence while masturbating to the porn pics as some people before me have rightly noticed :rofl-lol:

And I seriously doubt his promo with AC/DC will have any reflection in Guns. Nothing will change. If it were to be done, it would have been done already.

Let's look at this way folks re: promo whether it's Axl/DC or Guns..

We had next to NO PROMO for Axl/DC until a fucking day before the first gig!

The first gig of the Not In This Lifetime Tour isn't until late June.

Patience...

Don't forget the promo vid they did from the troubadour ;-) I was shocked we got that to be honest.

It also appears that guns n roses summer tour was all booked before the AC/DC thing cropped up, I think that's why Axl cancelled the tv show.

They rearranged tour dates to accommodate AC/DC. I genuinely don't think its power playing by Axl as opposed to wanting to help AC/DC whilst realising a personal dream, so maybe a little bit selfish, perhaps.

Im hopeful we will get more when Axl returns.

They're in total silence, yet you know what they think? You have some good mind-reading powers then.

But do you think things are still so bad between them that Axl is making power plays and wanting to fuck them over?

Any idea where to find possible periscopes for tonite's show? ac/dc forum require signin in and wont be doing that.

Around showtime just search "AC/DC periscope" on Twitter, or go to the Periscope map and find Lisbon and look for an appropriate feed. I'm sure someone here will post if it's found, too. Just be sure you're on the Show feed.

I just think that They support him quietly. They're mature, famous and rich.. Don't need to promoter their music career...

Search for the "gunsnrosesportugal" account in periscope. They said they would try to periscope parts of the show.
