Georgy Zhukov
I would like it if Vesper never gets mentioned again. Maybe a reference but never by name. I roll my eyes at comments of Bond's dialogue with Severine showing he is not over Vesper. Bond was over her, he just knew how to get Severine to his side. At the beginning of Skyfall you see Bond in his prime then he gets shot and he realizes he is over 40 and irrelevant but after he goes to Shanghai he starts feeling young again.Besides we can't feel that Bond sat on his ass and watched rugby between QoS and Skyfall. He's not Bruce Wayne.
dalsh327
Based on Miser's post in the Mad Man thread when he said he thinks Jon Hamm should be the new Bond, what are your thoughts on this. Personally I think by 2017 after the next two Craig films he will be too old at pushing 47. Also unlike Miser who thinks Hamm will be perfect for the role I think he wouldnt suit it that well.James Bond would've been too old to be a MI6 pre 9/11, where the max age was 32. They wouldn't have someone in their 50s collecting intel. If Bond had worked his way up to O4 before he was 30, he would've easily been snatched up, but most guys would just be doing paperwork for their last few years and just retire, and then do private security. Bond today would be a government contractor for the big money, not a government employee.
Georgy Zhukov
There was never any realism in James Bond even in the 60's. Harry Palmer was a more realistic agent. He lived in a run down flat which he probably could have moved to a better place if he bought store brand food instead of gourmet. Bond was overpaid even as a 00. Though he probably got some income from family wealth.
Georgy Zhukov
Skyfall has been nominated for three Oscars, Score, Original Song and Sound Editing, the nominees for Cinematography, Art Direction and Editing hasn't been nominated yet but no doubt it will snag Cinematography. Tater Totts
Been nominated for cinematography and sound mixing also

Georgy Zhukov
Javier Bardem got snubbed. I guess they wanted to fit De Niro in there.
James Bond
I figured the likes of Best Picture and Best Actor were long shots, but I was hoping Bardem would get a Supporting Actor nod. This is about what I predicted though. Technical nods and the title song plus Newman's score. For it to even get the nominations it did is impressive for a Bond film. That's five total which is the most for any Bond film ever. I can't even remember what the last Bond film was to get nominated for something at the Oscars. Georgy Zhukov
I thought Bardem would get nominated since he made quite an impression (again) but they really wanted to get De Niro up there.
James Bond
That's probably it - definitely a flip of the coin kind of scenario. Oh well, there's always the BAFTAs.
Georgy Zhukov
Seriously, the BAFTA's have becoming more and more credible. Eight nominations. Craig didn't get nominated this time but I guess it is because he already was nominated for CR.
James Bond
You're probably right on that. He was nominated for Casino Royale and unfortunately didn't win, but nominating him again for the same role would be seen as a kind of repeat. I hope Craig does win something someday for any role. He deserves it. Connery, after all, didn't win his first major award until long after Bond when he got Supporting Actor for The Untouchables. streak
I think it might win well at BAFTAs
Tater Totts
So it seems that Lazenby, Moore, Dalton, Brosnan and Craig have all agreed to appear on stage together at the Oscars for the 50th celebration, those 5 are confirmed so far and Connery hasn't said no to the invitation yet. Would be awesome to get them all onstage together.

Tater Totts
For fuck sake Miser, there is no reason for this thread as we already have a Bond thread. I understand wanting a Poll but still it seems silly when we have a perfect thread for it already
jman2000
The newest guy. (sorry I don't know all there names). I thought the latest movie Skyfall was amazing. One of the best movies I have seen so far.
AxlisOld
Connery, then a tie for second between Craig and Brosnan (just because his movies sucked balls doesn't mean he wasn't a good bond)
Dazey
Dalton was massively overlooked in my opinion.
Vincent Vega
Brosnan was a good Bond but his only good movie was Goldeneye. He was just given shit scripts to work with.

izzygirl
Daniel Craig is the best, cos he is blond. James Blond. (Ok...it's very late and I don't know what I'm saying. Leave me alone.)
Graeme
TD. Licence to Kill, closest the character's come to the way Fleming wrote him (although the best adaptation of one of his books is still Casino Royale).
