ChristmasFnatic
I mean, isnt it more appropriate for GNR or even just Axl to sing with Stones? Esp. Sympathy for the Devil? Instead, Katy Perry, who is not even a rockstar but a popstar was invited. Edited May 14, 2013 by ChristmasFnatic

HisRoyalSweetness
She's sexy and popular. I doubt the stones are even aware axl is alive anymore. Also I doubt axl would accept the offer. A viral video of axl getting shown up by a guy in his 70's would be pretty embarrassing.

alfierose
I guess because Katy is current. It's what older acts tend to do, the same reason Axl guested with Elton etc.. back in the day.
Axl_morris
probably cause he's done a duet with Axl before?I agree though, it would have been great. Edited May 14, 2013 by Axl_morris
Nosaj Thing
Because Katy Perry sounds better than current Axl and she's motherfuckin' hot.
Powerage5
Mick likes to seem relevant.I wouldn't rule Axl at the Toronto show on the 6th though, since GN'R are in Buffalo on the 5th. Might be a long shot, but we'll see...

People enjoyed it when Axl did it, his duet with Tom Petty was great. I kind of see these collaborations as a acknowledgment of current music, passing the mantle through generations regardless of genre. I think it would be cool if Axl did a bit of this with younger artists. Edited May 14, 2013 by alfierose

Nosaj Thing
Why would they invite Axl?I don't know, some deluded Axl fans think that Axl's band is in the same league as The Rolling Stones. These fans are so funny.

I wouldn't be surprised if I found out the Stones had Ke$ha or Nicki Minaj as guest artists. But yeah, the vegas residency would have been a bit more interesting if Axl called a few artists to collaborate with other than Izzy and Baz, who seem to be his only friends
alfierose
Axl and Adele would be great. Or maybe he should have asked Lana, he knows her and she would do it in a heartbeat. I actually think the public would enjoy that.
Coma16
How do you they didn't invite Axl? Or maybe they did and Axl didn't feel like it. Who knows You are also assuming that they knew he was going to be there.
trqster
Mick and the Stones most probably loved true Gn'R back in the day, are not into Axl's band (nuGn'R) and are more supportive of Slash (at least Ron Wood seems to be):
