If Ron leaves, which virtuoso would you like to see in the band?

No more guitar players please! It's a good chance for Axl to stop the jokes that it takes 3 guitar players to play Slash's parts… He should also take the opportunity to get rid of another redundant 'band' member - Pitman...

People here may not like Ashba, but he's really the best 'substitute' for Slash in terms of charisma, casual fan popularity and stage presence/interaction.

Having three guitar players in GNR is not essential but the extra guy does add to the performance, even if it's a small improvement over just two. These songs could very easily be transformed and shared out by two guys and sound just fine so it isn't really justifiable to have three, though it is a nice luxury for the little nuances and doubling up the rhythm section in parts. It's not as if Axl can't afford it either, a large part is also running from old GNR. Imagine tophat and izzy lookalike and no virtuoso, Axl will be having nightmares and if he can't find a replacement, will don a yellow raincoat himself and mindlessly shred and shriek.

The funny thing is Bucket can come back after being gone for 10 year and he has missed anything

Great (and sad but true) point... although not 100% accurate: Haven't they removed Jam, other Jam, yet another Jam/ backstage oxygen & glucose break for singer, from their live set, and replaced them with more Jam, still more with the Jamming, etc??

Well he missed out on the 12 times Scraped was played (though his solo was removed). And he would have had 13 opportunities to play his TWAT solo over 8 years.

Having a look at setlist.fm now, surprised to see IRS has been played 98 times! That's actually not too bad.

And Shackler's has been played 106 times in the past 4 years, that's not too shabby.

Sorry's been played 160 times, would have been cool to hear Bucket play his solo.

But yeah, these are all songs he laid his guitar parts for over a decade ago.

Malmsteen would last one gig before smashing his guitar.

Imagine the dude whittling away on the Nightrain solo or end of Paradise City though. Pointless shredding for hours on end.

LOLLLL and it would all be in the key of harmonic minor(that eastern sounding scale he uses in 99.9% of his songs)!! Can't forget the donuts too!

I hate Malmsteen and his music, but his vibrato is fuckin' great. Not that he's capable of doing anything cool with it, but still lol.

if it isnt bucket just forget virtuoso player...all those songs that bucket created pretty much suck live anyway. go back to bluesy rock songs live and cut out shacklers, rhiad, scraped etc.(not that the latter 2 are ever played really). in all honesty also fire dj and replace him with ANYONE
