If you're in the US, Tune in Tonight at 8:00pm EDT on AXS TV to see the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum present Slash with the Guitar Legend Award! ;)

I just checked their schedule and it's showing something like "Alternative Press Awards" for tonight at 8. Is that the same thing?

yes ! ;)

All right, so I'm going to see these guys two weeks from Saturday, and I've only been to one concert prior to this, so what do I need to prepare myself to make sure that my ears don't need to take as much damage as necessary? How is the volume of these shows?

Hmmm, all right. I guess I should get some ear buds or something like that to lower the volume. I guess what I'm asking is how do I prepare myself to not get overwhelmed by the sound, but still manage to hear as much of everything from the band?

The best sound is closed to the soundboard but it's quite far from the stage so the thing is to find out a good balance between a great wiew and a great sound ! ;)

Man, I really don't want to drive an hour and a half each way when they come in September but Aerosmith's sets have been so good, and Slash plays with them. Fuckkkkkk

Your crying about 90 minutes.

It's Slash and Joe Perry on the same night man, 90 min. each way is nothing.

Mansfield was a 2+ hour drive from my house and I still went, and got up for work the next day. No regrets.

I've driven 20 hours each way to see GNR in 2002. And many other shows I've driven numerous hours just to see my favorite artists. If your not willing to drive your not a real fan

I did 10 hours to see Slash in 2012, one of the best gigs I've ever seen. Totally worth it and would do it again.

Going to the Slash/Aerosmith show in Tinley Park tonight with a friend, girlfriend, and an exchange kid from France.

Cool, have fun! Try to keep the thread updated with the set ;)

I have used these for years and they work excellent and are not too expensive. They let you hear the music and your ears are not ringing after a loud concert

Boom! Slash's gig in Paris, France (first night) is now sold out ! Second night is still on sale.

I need to check but I guess it's the first sold out date of the european Tour. :headbang:

I don't know what's going on with his Sept 5th gig at Foxwoods. The place holds 1,400 and only 300 have been sold. There's been zero advertising to the best of my knowledge, when Ticketmaster sends out frequent emails of all the concerts in CT they've got every venue listed EXCEPT Foxwoods.

I think Foxwoods is the very last headlining date added to the US tour. A last minute date, so maybe there will be some local promo next month. We'll see. ;)

It is at the casino so I would not be too worried about slow sales at this point..........plenty of time and there will be a fair amount of walkup sales of in my experience

Right. So I don't really follow Slash's solo albums much, but I think they opened with World On Fire. Recognized Anastasia and Back from Cali. GNR materiel was Nightrain, You Could be Mine, Sweet Child, and Paradise City. Also played Slither, which I enjoy a lot.

Shorter set than the time I saw Slash at Ribfest, I guess because he's opening and because the curfew in Tinley Park is kind of early.

Miles passable on the GNR songs, I don't particularly like his voice on those but its not bad enough to ruin them or anything. Sounds better on the Slash solo materiel but no one can follow the lyrics if they don't know them, and no one knows them. Slash and the rest of the instruments plenty loud and sounded good. Their bassist should shut the fuck up on Slash's solo materiel, the backing vocals make it impossible to make out a word of the lyrics.

Crowd's mostly been lame. Only a handful moving or singing on anything but Sweet Child and Paradise. Ribfest in Naperville had three times he energy of this crowd. Only lawn or theater seats, no standing area.

Girlfriend liked Myles Kennedy's voice. Exchange kid from France also liking the show. Was recording Anastasia on his phone.

Aerosmith going on any minute.
