A new album wouldn't have made sense in the past six years and won't make sense for the next six. The year is 2020, timing is perfect. I have no reason to believe in what I'm saying, by the way. But I also really want to know what, specifically, sparked his decision to flee the world when he turned in Chinese Democracy to the label. On top of that, what happened between December 2010 & October 2011 that made for such a profound change in attitude and appearance? I am of the opinion he pulled his disappearing act to take the pressure off. Suppose he really went out there and flogged this thing. Doing interviews, doing press. And then it still tanks. That's embarrassing. But if you enter the Witness Protection Program for a year, hey, anything that happens is gravy. Look how much it sold without me even doing anything. As for what happened to him physically, I think it hit him that this whole thing is never really going to work. It might not have ever worked even with Bucket, Robin, and Brain. We'll never know.
