A Line or Three in a Song Where You Really Like Axl's Voice

Recommended Posts

whole YCBM, especially this:
While you're breakin' down my back n' I been rackin' out my brain
It don't matter how we make it
'Cause it always ends the same
You can push it for more mileage
But your flaps r' wearin' thin
And I could sleep on it 'til mornin'
But this nightmare never ends
Don't forget to call my lawyers
With ridiculous demands
An you can take the pity so far
But it's more than I can stand
'Cause this couchtrip's gettin' older
Tell me how long has it been
'Cause 5 years is forever
An you haven't grown up yet

Locomotive live performances back and forth

This part in SCOM: Her hair reminds me of a warm safe place

Where as a child I'd hide
And pray for the thunder and the rain
To quietly pass me by

Radicals and Racists

Don't point your finger at me

I'm a small town white boy

Just tryin' to make ends meet

Don't need your religion

Don't watch that much T.V.

Just makin' my livin', baby

Well that's enough for me

Well I'm a west coast struttin'

One bad mother

Got a rattlesnake suitcase

Under my arm

Said I'm a mean machine

Been drinkin' gasoline

An' honey you can make my motor hum

Well, I got one chance left

In a nine life cat

I got a dog eat dog sly smile

I got a Molotov cocktail with a match to go

I smoke my cigarette with style

An' I can tell you honey

You can make my money tonight

Oh,

I would do anything for you,

There was a time,

I would do anything for you,

Oh, I would do anything for you,

There was a time.

But who am I to tell you that Ive seen any reason

Why you should stay

Maybe wed be better off without you anyway

I got a one way ticket on your last chance ride

Got a one way ticket to your suicide

Got a one way ticket and theres no way out alive

And all this crass communication that has left you in the cold

Isnt much for consolation when you feel so weak and old

But if home is where the heart is

Then theres stories to be told

No, you dont need a doctor

No one else can heal your soul

Got your mind in submission

Got your life on the line

I always loved the bit where he comes in on 14 Years.

Me too. And I love it when he sings, at the end of the line, "Weeeell..." Like it's kind of a throwaway but it really adds something somehow!

Screams: "Oh, I would do anything for you," (from T.W.A.T)

Ah, just noticed Free Bird chose the same. Yeah, love it.

Goosebumps moment!

Just like the outro of Nightrain, after the solo in On In A Million and many more... actually I can't just choose 3 or 4 moments. The whole Coma outro, Locomotive outro, the where do we go part, I see you standing there part, WTTJ intro scream, Don't Daimn Me sometimes... part.

Total goosebumps! The Locomotive outro is the same too, yeah. It's such a rich sound - evocative... evocative of what I don't know, but def shivers down the back of the neck.

His voice during the whole 2nd half of TWAT is boss.

Yes, I love those lines from Estranged too. Love the elongated "beeeeeee"!

And why TWAT isn't known by the whole world - beats me! ; ) It's beyond amazing.

An "It's so easy" to be social
"It's so easy" to be cool
Yeah it's easy to be hungry
When you ain't got shit to lose
And I wish that I could help you
With what you hope to find

I like how his voice "cracks" in there.

"Social class and registers
Cocaine in the hall
All the way from California..."

I love how he sings 'cocaine' here - very clipped. I also love from There Was A Time:

"That keep you up and sitting pretty" - love how he sings 'pretty' - prritaaaay'

That 2nd half of TWAT, between Axl's vocals and the guitar solo, is one of the highlights off CD. Might as well add this one too from CD, love how he sounds:

now I know you better

you know I know better

now I know you better
