scooby845
Not trying to kill any of your excitement or for that matter mine, or to burst anyone's bubble, but the so-praised new intro to better performed live in 2016 was actually a work of Dj Ashba. Just listen to the part from 2:42 to 2:52. So it wasn't any songwriting input from Slash or Duff whatsoever.. Yeah go on hating on Dj..I still think he was great in GnR.. Fitha_whiskey
I don't know about all that. Sounds kinda similar but saying Slash copied that seems like a bridge too far for me. After all, it is the same song, so it's naturally going to sound something similar I think. I will say, this is a cool version and makes me actually wish a remix album would someday come out. Manfisman
That riff was always there on every version of Better.

Popular Post James Bond
The new intro is just a reworking of the chromatic heavy riff that starts off the bridge (right after the second chorus with the Bucket shred on top of it). I shouldn't even say reworking because it's literally the same, they just altered the arrangement of the song. As mentioned, that was already a part of Better.
RussTCB
The "new" intro is just the bridge, which Fortus wrote and has absolutely nothing to do with DJ Ashba.

Nice try, but DJ is still the worst guitarist to ever grace the stage with GN'R. He couldn't tie the laces on Robin's boots.
moreblack
DJ didn't write that part either. That riff is the rhythm part for Buckethead's solo from the get go all those years ago. Long before DJ was ever in the band.

This Slash even adds more things to it Just because Ashba played a slower version of that part, he doesn't recorded that part as an intro
slash23579
Kind of unrelated but Bumblefoots acoustic version is killer
