Gibson87
I think it was Estranged for me. Even though it was Axl's song, the way Slash put the emotion into that song was just breathtaking at the time. Still is sometimes.
soon
I think Fred Penner, Raffi and Dont Worry Baby by the Beach Boys planted the seed. But ISE was the song that I heard and said "I need to do that."
SoundOfAGun
Enter Sandman and Ugle Kid Joe's cover of Cats in the Cradle when I was 11, I rocked a mean tennis racket before I got my first guitar.
bucketOtrouble
welcome to the jungle. bought the sheet music which I still have and got a guitar. that one was far out of my abilities, so KOHD would become the 1st I could play
Silverburst80
I think it was just Appetite in general for me, my mother is a big rock fan so i was exposed to Hendrix, Zeppelin, Cream etc from a very young age but something about the guitars on that album made me actually want to pick up the instrument. I think the fact Slash and Izzy had fused punk and a little metal..which i hadn't really been exposed to yet..with the more classic rock style is what intrigued me. Eric Cantona
My Michelle, more specifically, the slides and pick scrapes Slash did on it that sounded like jet engines. I really wanted to replicate that sound.

OmarBradley
Embarrassingly... Kiss/Ace is what directly influenced me to pick up a guitar. How tastes change...
NeonKinight
Robin Finck's Solo for There Was A Time. Yep, that's strange. But the first full song i've learned was Electric Funeral

It's so simple yet so fun to play

It's so simple yet so fun to play It's a demonstration of how good and complicated the ol' pentatonic can be. Electric Funeral was the song that made me realize that wasn't impossible to play a song in it's entirety. Back in the days, i had no support whatsoever, whether from my family or myself, so everything was very difficult. But nowadays, if I were learning my first song, I think i'd play "forever my queen" by pentagram. You can learn that in 15 mins...
DK6
I used to watch the UYI I & 2 videos with my older brother. Wasn't a specific song- just Slash in general. I thought he was the coolest thing I'd ever seen!
AxlisOld
I wanna say Green Day's Dookie. What made me keep playing guitar, was any and all Metallica before St Anger.
