The missus just picked up a bunch of ribs from the butcher and I'm gonna grab a load of beer on my way home. Got a bunch of friends coming tonight to stay for the weekend so it's gonna be party time! :D

I've always loved 4th of July. Middle of the summer, fireworks, cookouts, frozen drinks. It's a happy time.

I'm having a big BBQ tomorrow. Going all out, even rented a tent and wait staff to lend a hand. Never had a 4th of July blowout before, I'm sort of looking forward to it even with all the work in front of me. Weather is going to be 85 and sunny, that was half my stress gone right there.

That sounds awesome! I'll be working tomorrow, during your festivities... <_<

I had the last two days off though...got top spend them with my son...went to the beach yesterday and will probably chill out and cook out today. So no complaints here.

Best of luck tomorrow and have a blast!!!

Wishing all the American posters a happy Independence Day! Linguini and KK, hope you have a nice workday. Isn't it a bit special (maybe a bit of a party at work), or will it be a day like all the others ? P4A, enjoy your BBQ. Sounds great!

Independence Day has always been my favorite holiday, just ahead of Memorial Day weekend only because of the fireworks. It's so weird seeing huge supplies of fireworks being sold in nearly every grocery store, department store and convenience store. Normally I would head down to Atlantic City this weekend, but unfortunately I have to work tomorrow. :(

It's funny how you can't even legally purchase sparklers in New York, yet in other states their selling fireworks in the bread aisle of your local grocery store.

Yes, hence me being the life of the party. I bet P4As fancy Wall Street friends haven't seen anyone do the "Michael Jordan lol.gif" to a tee before.

I was going to volunteer to bring some up....we get the good stuff down here. ;)

....but then again, big tents and mortars are rarely a good combination....

Thanks Lio!

As far as I'm concerned, I'm off today so that's good enough for me. As for work tomorrow, I'm in the tourism industry, so it'll be business as usual. :)

Same thing in Mass, everything is illegal. You're not missing much though, the good stuff (M80's, roman candles, firecrackers, bottle rockets, etc) still is illegal in CT. Only sparklers and weak-ass fountains are legal.

Technically, mortars and the heavier stuff is illegal here too....but they have some sort of loophole for agricultural use. They make us sign a form stating that's what we're using them for.

The rate of farmers in the state of Florida increases by the millions during the 4th of July season....

Technically she is an enemy of the Union too. Doesn't Texas want to go solo?

Have a blast everyone. It's the kind of things one see on films and TV and that would like to live in person.

Only a very small % of Texans actually want to secede. But you never know.... :P
