  1. I'm glad the weird pants are gone; he looks better in black. No photos whatsoever, anyone?
  2. Good Omens S2. Third episode was better than the previous two combined.
  3. Nah, it was primarily because Axl looked fat and his vocals sucked (at least when compared with the high bar that 2010 was). The rest was just icing. But like I said, opinions differ.
  4. I haven't seen it "in ages" (funny how the language has been devaluating in recent times), but I do remember it sucked quite a lot. It's no coincidence this gig, along with Rio 11, became a meme, even though we'd find worse shows in the later era. Each to their own, though.
  5. The fact that a certain level gradually decreases over time doesn’t mean our evaluation at the time was wrong. That logic is erroneous; we were (correctly) using different standards then.
  6. London 2012 was too, and yet they released basically the same show from the same year.
  7. The only logical year to use for a dvd would be 2016. However, they should have released it years ago. As usual...
  8. What? They're not releasing an instrumental as the next single, for god's sake. Whenever did they do that anyway?
  9. Personally couldn't give a damn, he looks better than a few years back ...but he should've kept the long hair.
  10. Meeting Axl, shaking his hand, saying thank you, getting a signature and maybe a selfie. Axl publishing a book.
  11. Wikipedia says: "The band used 15 studios during production, including Capitol Studios, Cherokee Studios, Electric Lady Studios, Sunset Sound Recorders, and The Village." Dunno where this info is originally from, but: I don’t know what we’ll get, but I do know it would be insane to think that all Axl has was recorded in The Village and he used another 14 studios just to tinker with those few songs with vocals. Even if the Village CDs are all there is (which I don’t believe), that still means dozens of those other songs without vocals, which he must have tackled to some degree in those other studios. Now, take these, add one or two new songs and one or two 90s songs and you got yourself several possible albums stepwise. Sounds unbelievable and crazy, but it's still logical.
  12. Saw it yesterday. Not bad. It has a different vibe than Dead City. Judging from the previews at the end of the episode, it could be really good. Also, Rick’s story is now named TWD: The Ones Who Live, and Wikipedia says: "The first season will consist of six episodes and is intended to be a continuing series."
  13. He sounded bad in 2018 (or ever since 2016/17) and yet Rock the Rock was a nice typical Axl. All he has to do is create 3–4 new songs where he doesn’t even have to overstretch himself. Throw in another 6 CD2 leftovers (maybe including some of the current singles) with already existing vocals, and you have a 10-track new album and everyone is happy. Add something from the 90s and it’ll be perfect. It’s still doable.
  14. I firmly believe someone will come up with some rumour soon after. And a rumour these days means just a message like "insiders say Seven / Soul Monster is next" posted somewhere on Reddit. No evidence, links or anything. Oh we’ll always have something to talk about.
  15. Something does, something doesn’t, but does that really change anything about the principle I’ve described? I don’t think so. But then, I’m really just pointing it out. I understand this type of bickering is normal in fan communities, whether it concerns a rock band or a space opera franchise.
  16. You guys have just one more step to reach the enlightenment. That step is full realization of the fact that not everything is comparable. Not everything is vertical, capable of being put on some sort of a Top ten chart. We’re brought to this concept since school – who’ll be the first, quickest, who is the best etc., but it’s really a nonsense completely denying human uniqueness; so we compete and rush, and in the practical world it only leads to a rich cunt being able to buy another yacht sooner. Slash is not better than Buckethead; Buckethead is not better than Slash. They are completely different guitarists, and just because we think there’s any logic in their comparison, that doesn’t mean there is – even though we are confused because Axl, the culprit, used them both in the same band at different times, even to play the same songs, which makes it look like this comparison makes any sense. It doesn’t. They’re both great. Each in their own whatever it is they're doing. Aloha.
  17. In 2016 - I.R.S. It would have sounded good. These days - maybe Shackler, he could handle that. No point in trying any of the other ones. Plus they skipped Riad even back in 2009, so... hard to expect to hear it now. Anyway, I'd prefer something new.
  18. 300 pages since February, and we’ve gotten a single and a promise of another one. Doing the math, if we keep busy, we’ll have another one around April 2024 (as long as we achieve 600 pages), and a new album could arrive around the year 2033 or something, granted there’ll have been grandchildren of the original thread by then. Not a bad deal, I hope they’ll release some brain-implant 4D version as well. Idk I have a hangover, the math may be wrong.
  19. Out of all the cities in the US, this is definitely not the one to fuck with, Axl.
  20. Nice post. I’d only add, though, that I don’t think 2002 was the last year they had a chance to make a big impact. 2006 was still very promising too. If only they released and promoted something. Plus they had a chance even after 2008, but the whole thing suffered from zero promotion and mismanaged development, which led to Axl not wanting to have anything to do with it other than touring the songs. No videos, TV, or magazines with proper interviews. Silence from Axl and an embargo for the hired guns. Yes, he blew it. And it doesn’t look too dissimilar in the Reunion era either, by the way. 2016 was grand (including the 2017 continuation in Europe, with worse but still ok Axl). But once again, then it started to get stale and it took them years to do something at least marginally exciting. A DVD would have been appropriate around 2018. They had the material; they had the time. New singles way earlier than in fall 2021. Interviews where they’d finally uncover some of the behind-the-curtain stuff and Axl would open up e.g. about the CD sessions and songs he has on the shelf. Instead, what we got was the same silence from Axl and an embargo for the rest, except Slash’s occasional vague promises (which, to be fair, do come to fruition, albeit with a delay). There’s no PR, as they have no people for it, and apparently neither any intentions in this regard. What I’m saying is, they could have made a way bigger impact post 2000 had they done things normally like other bands do. Instead, the same veil of mystery as usual (even in the Reunion era), which may have been kind of cool back in 2002, but now is just lame. And with Axl gradually losing the voice, I mean... they’re not getting any younger, are they. They blew it not because they wouldn’t have the chops anymore or because people wouldn’t be interested. No, they blew it because Axl got butthurt once and chose a total non-promotion/silence/mystery path to be followed ever since. Which, in the world of social media, instant sharing, and dozens of new videos every day, sucks donkey ass.
  21. I take it the YT prohibition has been easing up then? Good to see!
