  1. if true, disgusting and Fernando is a much worse human than I initially believed he was. In any case, I hope he no longer will be a part of Gn'R's management team. I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if Kat is telling the truth.
  2. how tall, in your opinion, do you need to be as a man to be a 'baller'? what is it that prevents short guys from being ballers?
  3. maybe while trying it, Slash liked the differences compared to the classic Marshall sound but that also it has enough of a similar sound? you know how it is, sometimes for some players, even if they get a perfect tone, they get bored or they just want to try something new and they end up liking it. Slash strikes me as someone who is more into guitars and amps and less into pedals except his cry baby wah. He did use pedals which were new to his sound in the VR days.
  4. yeah if people are hostile in some forums and give you shit, maybe it's not a good match for you as a poster to visit those places? each forum got its own vibe imo. This place is pretty chill for the most part I think.
  5. ended up really enjoying the Loki finale. Second half of the episode had some real nice shots and scenes imo. As far as The Marvels go, I have not seen it yet, but I'm not expecting much. it feels like Marvel has entered phase 2 of Marvel fatigue and there needs to be a shake up of the formula to regain more interest, Maybe it's fixable, and a good lesson for Marvel and I believe the multiverse still has a lot of potential but a rethinking of what the audience really wants would probably be a good idea.
  6. I think the poster on the closely related website was mocking you, just being an asshole.
  7. the general is one of my favorites from chinese era. Slash plays the right parts for the song, it starts like a creepy lullaby with disturbing lyrics and all 3 main vocal melodies are unique imo.
  8. Oh My God is an interesting one lyrically. As you say, who knows what he means but my interpretation of it is that it could be about the "shadow" of the person, very Jungian lyrics, unless I'm totally wrong. In case you're not familiar with the idea: Shadow (psychology) - Wikipedia
  9. Axl talked about the reaction to Brian May's solo on the leaked demo of Catcher and how he was surprised that it wasn't more favorable among posters cause Brian May is such a legend and then he replaced his work with Bumble's. some posters here mocked one of the leaked versions of Better, in particular the lyrics in the chorus as it was back then (now I know you know I know better, etc) and then Axl changed it to how it is now.
  10. but Axl didn't want to reunite shortly after the CD release. People could have been more aware of the album if Azoff focused more on Chinese instead of working to get it out of the way and get Axl to do something like a reunion, before he had a chance to support Chinese properly. I'm aware of the musical landscape of 2008, it's not really relevant imo. If it was a losing battle, then Azoff should have stayed far away from a client like Axl, but maybe the reunion money was too tempting to resist. who gives a fuck that Azoff was a top industry manager, bottom line he didn't do his job, he tried to get what he could from it without giving 2 shits about his client is the way I see it.
  11. if Azoff's pitch to get hired by Axl was a reunion in its center, I don't think Axl would have went for it. Axl didn't need Azoff to make a reunion happen anyway, he needed Azoff to make the release of Chinese the biggest it can be and not just financially. it seems like he just used Axl to hopefully get a chunk of the reunion money. Would you be satisfied if someone you've hired to do a job for you decided what you wanted was not the right direction to go and just fed you some bullshit? I think that would have pissed me and a lot of people off.
  12. I don't understand why Axl is to blame for not wanting to reunite back then, especially since he invested so much of himself in Chinese and probably wanted his work to get the chance it deserved after all this time. Regardless of the chances of Chinese commercially, it was Azoff's job to do what Axl wanted him to do, and like I've said already, if you can't do it or you have different plans, then don't pretend that your goal is to satisfy your client when it isn't.
  13. why do you think definitely? who was Azoff's client? was it not Axl? and no, I don't think Azoff was brought in to solely just get Chinese out as fast as possible. Maybe that was the problem, that promises were made to Axl so he believed he had a beast on his side that had what it took to make the release as impactful as possible, but instead it seems Azoff had no intentions of doing that so while I'm thankful the album got released, I think Axl got stabbed in the back by Azoff. He is known to be ruthless and will do anything in his power to get what he wants. The most lucrative option by far was a reunion so he went with the shortest road that would get him there. (just a guess)
  14. I think the point I'm trying to make here is that if you're hired to do a job and you say you can do it and you get paid to do it, you do it. I don't believe Axl would have ever hired him if he knew where his focus was going to be (not really doing whatever he could to push Chinese)
  15. longer breaks, no more back to back shows, changing singing approach, all of that I can see happening and some of it is already happening, but keeping it going is something I believe that Axl is still interested in doing for multiple reasons.
  16. no way that this is the end of the road imo, touring wise for Gn'R. I keep saying this, but Axl said in the China Exchange interview that he would like to keep it going for as long as possible. As long as Axl is physically able to do it, I think we're good in the touring department.
  17. maybe it wasn't weird at all and I prefer to judge it on a case by case basis, despite Axl's reputation. My opinion is that we can't just shrug off Azoff's approach here if in fact he wasn't committed to doing his job, which wasn't just getting Chinese out no matter what the cost was when it came to promotion and doing everything in his power to give Chinese every chance to fulfill its commercial potential, as low as you might think it was in 2008.
  18. I really don't know what actually happened there, but according to what Axl said about it, my best guess is what I said in the previous post about Azoff maybe knowing he couldn't deliver or wasn't interested in delivering what he promised Axl so he lied to him to get the job.
  19. if Azoff promised shit that he didn't deliver, and I assume he did, cause why would Axl agree to the approach that was taken with Chinese , then it's on Azoff. If there was no way to give Axl what he wanted, Azoff should have been more honest from the start and how do we know there was no other approach to take? I don't know enough about the business, but I do know that Azoff just didn't deliver cause if he did, Axl wouldn't have waited a year before supporting Chinese with a tour. I think it turned out like it turned out cause Azoff was thinking more about what he wanted and not what Axl wanted. Basically, my guess is that he lied to Axl so Axl would hire him.
  20. he got the album released and managed to make a deal that was a good deal for the label but I don't think that was the only results his client, Axl in this case, was expecting. I think it's likely that Axl wanted a big promotion for an album that was in the works for 10 years and not enough efforts were made to push it in Axl's mind maybe. Especially for a musician like Axl seems to be, rushing the process of releasing Chinese was a dirty move and I understand his reaction if at least some of what I think happened there is true.
  21. insane screaming from lady in the crowd was my favorite part
  22. who knows what Azoff said to Axl, what he promised him and how he said it. Having the reputation of a reunions whisperer doesn't mean it's an automatic deal breaker. I'll even go as far as say that maybe Axl wanted to reunite eventually, but felt that Azoff didn't give enough attention to Chinese cause that was secondary to him and all he really cared about was the main thing which was the reunion so to Axl maybe he saw that as Azoff trying to sabotage the release and promotion of Chinese and just wanted for that phase to be over with.
  23. frankly, it kinda sounds like lack of balls and/or a way to get as much mileage out of the leftovers. I know plans change, but Slash said that maybe they'll eventually release the singles as a full album, collecting all of it on one disk or whatever. I don't fully understand what you mean by "harmless", I wonder how much Axl cares about what the hardcore Gn'R fan thinks, like it was in the past when he made changes to the music just cause he read shit that was said here and in other forums about Catcher and Better for example.
  24. I think Axl had way too much time to release more material for the reason for the lack of releases to be only other parties involved. Musicians release music cause they need to and nobody makes real money directly from album sales anymore except rare cases. Axl doesn't owe me anything, but he is certainly a hoarder imo and I think he could have found a way to release more music if that was his number 1 priority. Overthinking it seems to complicate shit for him, but we don't really know his side of it cause he chooses not to go into details about his process even when he gives interviews.
