09/20/23 - Biloxi, MS - Mississippi Coast Coliseum

Looks like it was a good show Yeah, they definitely have someone turning Axl's volume up and down at these latest shows, was super noticeable to me at the Bucharest gig, but it is what it is. The setlists have been fantastic this year. Looking forward to hearing Perhaps in person, and I keep telling people that ABSURD is fucking awesome live Hard Skool is one of those songs (along with Slither) that I wish was performed before 2018 when Axl could still really go for it (god, imagine 2006-era Axl on Hard Skool...), but at least ABSURD and Perhaps are sounding good these days -
I bought the AFD Super Deluxe (with the CDs) once it hit £40 on eBay, and I'm similarly holding out on the UYI Super Deluxe to have a comparable price drop (though I bought a handful of tracks off iTunes). Cassettes seemed to be "in" for a while in a quirky hipster retro sort of way but they're a much smaller market than vinyl or CDs. Whenever I walk into my local HMV (one of the few left in the UK), the vinyls are always at the front of the shop, CDs way at the back.

While I'm certain the track will be released digitally, I'm not so sure about a CD release. Vinyls now outsell CDs, the kind of collectors who shell out for these things are all in on vinyl for whatever reasons. Digital for the casuals, vinyls for the collectors, that's how the market is split these days. I saw the Hard Skool CD for £5 in a shop the other day and even as a die-hard fan I passed on buying it since I already had bought ABSURD and Hard Skool off iTunes on release. I'd buy an album on CD, though.

When/where did this happen? It vaguely rings a bell. -
New Limited Edition Greatest Hits. Clear/Gold Vinyl.

They must have some kind of internal metrics/sales figures to justify this release, i.e. ~3000 people who will buy anything Guns N' Roses if it has "Limited Edition" slapped on it. Think I paid £3 at a charity shop for the "Strictly Limited Edition" VHS of the Garden of Eden music video which I think I've since lost in a move There were plans for that around 2006: http://www.troccolitm.com/CDVol2Great.html -
People's weight goes up and down. I've gone from 80kg down to 72 back up to 75 now all in the past few months. He doesn't look anywhere near as big as 2019 where it looked like the added weight actually hindered his performance (very slow moving around the stage etc.). I really liked his TWAT solos this year at Paris and what I saw online from Toronto and a couple of other shows. The solos at this show were a bit different and not as much to my liking but still pretty good.

Two venues are 20,000, one is 18,000, other is 12,000, so definitely easier to shift tickets than stadiums.

Those synth strings sound good, but one day they need to get at least a string section to join them for this, Maddy, TIL, and Prostitute. Also I want that jacket, I'm glad the 2010-style jackets are back I wonder if Slash acknowledges to himself just how fucking awesome that Bucket TWAT solo is, he's doing a great job on it now.

Is this the first time that Madagascar and Civil War have been played one after the other (i.e. both songs sample “What we’ve got here… is failure to communicate”)?

Happy that @kanecrescente got some TWAT 🙂🤘🏽

Unofficial GNR Social Media Update / Discussion

I think he should add an extra syllable at each show so by the end of the tour it’s: “Ladies and gentlemen… Frank Ferrerrerrerrerrerrerrerrerrerrerrerra” -

Perhaps is getting a lot better. Funny that the review from the last show suspected Axl was going to the oxygen tent between songs which I thought was odd as he hasn’t done that in years, and then here he clarifies he was actually throwing up -
The new pictures were up not long after which is why I was confused by @Martin Riggs' comment

Collected The Amazing Spider-Man from 1997-2007, when they shit the bed with One More Day/Brand New Day :/ Past few months started putting together a very small 4K Blu Ray/Regular Blu Ray collection of Hong Kong action films. Generally try not to collect too much physical stuff as my apartment is small and I travel a lot.

Perhaps - New Guns N' Roses Single - Discussion
Amir replied to downzy's topic in GUNS N' ROSES - DISCUSSION & NEWS
It's interesting to see that Tobias plays on Better as well, but not Shackler's, Scraped, or Sorry. Those last three seem to be the ones that were put together around 2006/7 (though we know Sorry and Shackler's existed as Buckethead & Brain instrumentals back in 2000 thanks to the Village leaks). The lack of both Tobias and Buckethead on TIL makes me think that was a late addition in terms of the final version (though obviously the earliest demos would have been the oldest of all the ChiDem songs). -
It's a fair enough review, definitely agree re: Rocket Queen and YCBM, there haven't been good vocal performances of those songs since 2016, also about having Slash as a lifeline at times. Sound mix was fine from where I was in London and Paris (though a review for the latter complained about it from someone in the seats), but I definitely noticed issues at the Bucharest show.

It’s a video, I tried to get the URL using browser tools but no luck :/
