GnR Chris
Yeah, "Sweet Child" is a masterpiece. It's unadulterated ear porn. But I'm torn between that and "November Rain." Slash's solos in that song are beautiful. The first is almost weeping. And the guitar part in the coda is beyond anything. It's one of my favorite Gn'R moments ever, and I'm saddened not to get to hear Slash play it anymore since he doesn't do "Nov. Rain" live.
alfierose
SCOM, NovR, Estranged. It's ironic that some of his best solos are on songs he dislikes.

jimb0
Buckethead on nightrain. Brought the song to a whole new level. Pittsburg is my favorite soundboard bootleg of this solo.
Bruno P.
I, as a huge Buckethead fan, feel like he just relied too much on his own cliches when performing his There Was a Time solo, unlike Robin in This I Love or Ron in Shackler's - both go to unexpected places and they didn't make it sound like a bunch of their licks put together. That's probably Axl's fault as he probably comped all of the solos. It's not that I don't like the solo. I do. It goes to great places but they're predictable, so it doesn't feel like an original Buckethead solo in my books. That's why I'm more into This I Love and Shackler's - they're unpredictable yet fit the songs perfectly.

I'd be willing to believe that, as my thoughts on the solo are about the same (and like you, I've been a Buckethead fan since the early 1990s). MEXzilla
everything Slash and Izzy did lol there just all awesome. But if I had to choose it be between Estranged, SCOM, and The Garden; it really changes every day for me.

We'll probably never find out anyway. Ever since Ron told us that almost all of the solos were comped I had this feeling that Axl did too much copy and paste with the TWAT outro solo. Axl's been messing with the songs for almost a decade or so so I wouldnt be surprised. That being said, dont you think that Bucket works better as a solo artist or as a duo/trio guy w/ Brain and/or Claypool? People claimed that Bucket felt that Guns was his and Axl's show,so that'd be a bigger proof that he doesn't feel like sharing his songs, stage and musical ideas with a whole band. Graeme
The second November Rain solo, the little one inbetween the "need some time" bit and the outro. No-one, Slash, Robin (especially) or DJ has ever done it justice live, they all screw up the bend and sour the high note at least it's perfect on record.
