I'm not going to question his playing, but on image GnR and Buckethead were always a terrible mis-match to me. Guns n' Roses used to be an in your face what you see is what you get relatable rock and roll band. I love that. Buckethead however is a strange mask-wearing sockpuppet-using nunchuck-dancing spaceman freak. I just really don't like (and never liked) that image being GnR. It's like two opposites.In terms of looks, Ron was a huge improvement over Buckethead. That said, all of those options would be better than a whiny little 40 year old emo bitch like Ashba. Not knowing when you're going to be working, being bullied by co-workers, being forced to cancel other plans, being essentially forced to work while seriously injured and in pain...none of that sounds delightful for any workplace, whether it's a stage or an office....but does he have fun onstage? BBF LOVES to play and loves music. He seems to genuinely want to be involved with music whenever he can, whether it's with Guns, with his own tours, or with teaching. So IMHO it's entirely possible that he DOES love the actual playing part of it, when he's not in substantial amounts of pain...hence the smiles.
