What are you talking about?

Yes, that one.

Sh said that before meeting Axl, Slash and Meegan passed by her and they were standing outside "not doing anything, just standing" and she says she asked Slash "from the distance" if she could have a picture with him and that Slash ignored her and gave her a bad look "like I was bacteria"  and that Meegan told her to "get out of here".......

I think fans who write out boards like that  and take them everywhere with them want extra attention from the band members. She had that sign at the show, they saw it as she was on the rail, and then she follows them about with it and eventually managed to get Axl to sign it. She sounds like an attention seeking pest to me.

Is it wrong that I think this is amazing from the LA pop up shop that we are meant to hate?

I want it. I'm a terrible fan.

:smiley-confused2:

No! Why are we meant to hate the pop-up shop? I'm just sad I don't live in L.A. and because of that I have missed most GNR cool stuff they did since early 2016

I don't like this particular jacket because in general I don't like camouflage clothes but there must be lots of cool ones.... Where are you seeing this store online?

I saw these on nightrain.

Theres a lot of hate in D&N for this shop, I suppose because they are saying it is part of AFD celebration? And people don't like that there are designers involved, I guess. Maybe it will be like the London one, with normal merch in there too.

Haha, the muppets, how appropriate.

Really off topic, but we talked about her a bit in here, I'm really sad about what is happening with Sinead O' Connor at the minute. She appears to be having a full mental breakdown  What is also very saddening is the reaction and attitude in my country towards someone who is clearly suffering with mental illness.

Some of the comments on there are absolutely disgusting. She is on pretty much every news site in the UK at the moment and the comments are as bad on all.

Sorry for off topic.

I always loved Sinead and even am in #teamsoup with her!

I feel sorry for her having been/ being so ill and still admire her for opening up publicly. Mental illnesses are still such a taboo and it's great when "famous" people open up about it to make it a more approachable topic.

I saw this in the morning and I remembered all the talks here from when she said that about Axl....... I guess Axl should offer a soup bowl and blanket to her nowadays!

Why doesn't anyone do anything for Sinead in your country?

Can't she be taken to the hospice?

That's cute, but you could easily get the patches off of Etsy and make it yourself for a lot less than they're going to charge.

Hospices here are usually meant to take care of people in terminal state of their incurable disease, at least here, and I don`t think she is in this state: some shelter where she won`t be alone to overcome the worst would be more accurate. But it`s to be discussed with professionals and people she trusts (Here comes the difficult part. To gain trust.). One other problem is that more people witness something, the less probability is that someone will help, it`s known phenomena.

I meant a mental hospital so that she's not alone in an apartment at the risk of committing suicide at any time. She clearly wants to get saved because she's crying for help- She's not entirely suicidal. If she was, she would have done it already.

Lots of celebrities here get entered the mental hospital without a problem

She is Irish, she has spoken about how difficult it is to get help Ireland before. It's the same in the UK and Ireland for mental health care though, it's really lacking and the public views on it are obviously still in the dark ages.

She has been found now and apparently is getting the help she wanted. I hope so.

I actually have a couple of similar style jackets I got from the army surplus store and then used a sewing machine to sew patches on, they look cool, but I really like that one

If it`s a good facility with activities and lots of personal space and like healthy volunteers, no problem. Sincerely, your eastern-European who as an employee sometimes goes to psych department and is happy that nurses leave here out, because it`s creepy and depressive place :nervous:. It can happen to anyone, but still it`s difficult to fund changes here, because way too many people pretend that it can`t happen to them.

Basically, yes. There was a case in a course study I did at work just recently of a young man who has psychosis, which when he has an episode his mum has to chain him to a radiator to stop him hurting himself or other people. Mental health team discharged him, just like that. There are specialist hospitals and wards in hospitals, but not enough.

Damn it, thats cruel!

I think the mental places are over populated here too..... Recently I watched two videos on YouTube of crazy people doing bad stuff in the streets. There are lots of cameras in the streets now so all sorts of crimes are caught on video . I'll post it in hidden mode

Spoiler

Bold is ideal facility. What you get here (especially in acute care) is often overcrowded dept with patients not having have many activities, lots of boredom. Some of the patients are really creepy and/or annyoing, even if they are not dangerous. Having serious problem themselves people are extra sensitive and vulnerable about how others are and how they are treated. Staff is reduced to minimum and completely changes few time a day. Some are burnout and you are not obliged to trust each and every one anyway. Lacking money means old buildings and furniture and threadbare stuff. Amount of volunteers for adults care here is minimal or no (priest and some nuns, if you are christian, but nothing more).

We have state financed healthcare here for everyone, no private insurance or extra-care insurance is available.

I have friend who studied medicine in Mexico and they have way more complex psych care than we have here, at least with good insurance, no other info from south America.

Ah, ok. Gotcha.

I think it's kind of similar here but it really depends on whether the mental hospital is private or belongs to the state. The public ones are usually awful, abandoned and doctors don't want to be there at all (nurses either). We also have other places that are like farms, located outside the urban zone, where some people can go living there for a while for a treatment.... that usually is for drugaddicts and alcoholics....

In the Uk we have 'care in the community' which is bollocks. It's basically people that were in specialist hospitals/homes were kicked out and put in flats [apartments] to look after themselves with just out-patient care. A majority of the homeless in England

are in this situation because they are not able to cope alone. These poor people need help and our government does fuck all.

That is awful.

I think the overcrowding and long waits for any kind of help might be something most countries have to deal with when it comes to mental health care.

@Alja Deliberately under staffing and cuts to funding is a major problem here too. Where I work there are two of us at night for 25 people, all different levels of care required.

That`s exactly why I used word "shelter".

Yes, it seems mental health is a problem everywhere in the world.... I wonder what they do in advanced societies like the Nordic countries. They always seem to be ahead of everything social.

Milllions, are you a nurse? Do you work at a mental facility or at a regular hospital?
