An Idea ?

Recommended Posts

I sort of subscribe to the defintion of lies that they have to be deliberate (I know there's a better word for it than "deliberate", I just can't think of it! But it means that it is only a lie if you KNOW you are not telling the truth; the alternative is simply "being wrong"). So in Axl's case, in regards to new music, I think he has believed every word he has said, and I wouldn't be surprised he is as disappointed about the results as we are.

When Axl reemerged in 1999 did you really think he envisioned playing greatest hits in casinos?

The whole new gnr thing has been exposed as the sham it always was. I am honest. I will admit I was suckered in between 1999-2002, but, you have to face facts. Buckethead, Robin, BF - good musicians and people with integrity - were all suckered in. There is no shame in admitting it was all a con and gnr were over in 1993.

who's fernando??

the guy giving us what we need most.

3hr meeting ringing a bell?

no idea :wow::wow:

Fernando is part of Team Brazil, Axl's management.

He is the son of Beta Lebeis, who was formerly the nanny of Stephanie Seymour's (Axl's ex) son Dylan and has gone from personal assistant to manager and whatever...you may know Beta from the Estranged music video and the Rock In Rio 2001 show.

Probably the best part of a year ago Fernando broke silence to inform the internet GNR fanbase that he had a 3 hour meeting with GNR (whatever and whoever that is) which was presumably his way of throwing us a bone/ showing how hard he/his mother/Team Brazil/everyone in the GNR camp are working at moving things forward.

No, I don't think he envisioned that, but neither does it have any bearings on whether he actually lied to us. As I said, he might have believed every word he said and be as disappointed about the results as you are. Or maybe he had a more realistic perspective on the future than you and that this isn't so horrible bad as you keep on saying it is?

A sham, like con, implies willful deceit, which I see nothing of. Is it easier to cope with failed expectations when you convince yourself you are the target of someone who deliberately tricked you?

Don't you see, the con was, that Axl could carry on with the name, that Axl is inherently GN'R? Some of us were suckered in by it. One or two, still are! It was all a sham really. Did Axl intend to release a trilogy in 2002 or whenever it was? Perhaps.

I honestly do believe that Axl is lying about the contracts. In fact there are many moments where you can see outright lies. That stuff about Guitar Hero was a load of cock and balls.

I just had a moment of clarity. I mean, what the fuck? Why do I even support this band? I love everything from AFD to CD, but this is just pathetic. If one of the biggest rock bands in the world can't release an album without fans writing to them, then they can keep their new music and shove it up their asses.

I prefer my copy of CD ll feces free. Chill bro. Don't you know Axl is late to everything? what did you expect? he's insane. I think he'll go in circles some more and then release it. He wanted to delay UYI as well. Now there is no one in the band to push him to do anything so it takes even longer.

He talked about the album a few times now. Last time was promising imo. He said it's done. It's him telling the fans "I want it out, I'll try to get it out" but he doesn't want to commit to anything because what happened with Chinese when he said it's this year in 2006, but it got delayed and we were so angry.

I think we are a pain in the arse. Consider the fact that newgnr operates like some sort of censorship bubble, people like Team Brazil and Del going extraordinary lengths to shield their master. Fans are outside this bubble. Fans dare to ask inconvenient questions like, ''where is our new fuckin album?'' (shock, horror that fans, desire, albums!!!). We ask questions which could potentially anger the ginger toddler.

Consider the fact that, even before new gnr, Axl had a very poor opinion of free speech and freedom of action. This was a guy who, on the Illusion tour, was getting journalists to sign up to 'gagging orders'. This was a guy who wrote one of the most childish rants at the press and inserted it into a shitty song. This was a guy who once threw himself into the crowd like an idiot because - the horror of it!! - somebody, was, taking, photographs. Axl for some reason wants people to suck his dick all the time and cannot stand criticism. That is why he has shielded himself with Del and a Brazilian family, and these people constantly run around all day trying to do things which will please him.

So we are simply a colossal pain in the arse. We are, 'complaints, complaints, complaints' to them. I suppose their ideal (of a fan) is for us to pay $100 on a Vegas ticket; rawk out to the hits; come back to jarmo's and go ''jee whiz, golly gosh, that sure was a super duper show''; and repeat the process the following year, i.e. no clamoring for albums, no voice or setlist complaints. I mean they, Beta etc, do not even bother to post on Jarmo's so they are going to love us haha.

Great post.

I feel sorry for the Brazilians. They have fallen into the "jee whiz, golly gosh" category already.

"New" GNR is a fucking delusion. All of us 172 "fans" who are scattered around the internet like little nerdy ants, dwelling in the corners of nowhere are still....STILL under the idea that this is a real band. It's not. It's a cover band which tours over and over and over again playing old songs to drunken dude bros who just want to drink some beer and hear SCOM. Those are the people who pay their bills now and that's ALL "new" GNR is.

I think we should all just accept this and move on. I love real GNR and I will always throw those records on and watch those old concerts on Youtube, but the shit is OVER.

You are correct. There is still a side of me which wishes he would get the cd leftovers out, but I cannot deny, you are correct. I think we are deluding ourselves to say it was not over after 1993 to be honest. I mean I say this as someone who got carried away around 1999-2002, thinking Axl had this 'trilogy' of masterpieces. it was all a con at the end of the day - and it has been exposed for being vacuous as it always was.

I got carried away too. I honestly (for some fucking reason) thought Axl could reinvent the machine and take over the world. What an ass hat I was lol

Guys, I think it's time to take drastic actions regarding GN'R.We need a f***** new album and the band must realise that we (diehard fans that stuck tru the darkest periods) have been losing faith (or have already lost it).

My suggestion is to write a letter to Fernando directly (not to Axl like last time) and tell him that 6 years are a long time without Music ! I'm sure he will understand, he knows which impact the forum has.I'm not trying to be a hater is just I still need a little bit of hope if I want to stay a GNR fan I know it's hard ...but you guys get me ?

Should the forum write a letter to Fernando ?

lolno.

1. Don't think this "idea" hasn't come by loads of times in the past 14 years.

2. Don't think Fernandouche or anybody else in Team Complaints cares.

3. Don't think it would even change anything even slightly.

GnR has been a clusterfuck for 14 years now and I don't think a letter from a bunch of idiots on an internet forum that Axl hates will matter. At all.

Don't approach him or anybody. Pointless. Deep down they all know that fan base hate what the "band" are doing now and would prefer firstly a reunion and secondly CD2-CD3. They know it. And it is pointless to repeat the obvious. If the main man does not want a reunion or an new album, then nothing will happen. It is just so simple.

Caus he is the main man.

What happens to me is my own affair.
If you don't like me, I really don't care.
'Cause no one's been what I've been through.
And I don't do what people want me to do.

God how pathetic would that be if we all started begging to Fernando.

We crossed the pathetic threshold a long time ago with this band.

Quite True- and you're not even referring to any of the "We Demand New Music" petition threads (which generally top out at around 150 "e-signatures")
