Silent Jay
Something that I think was odd on CD, was the singing melodies with no lyrics at all. In Better, If The World and Catcher. It was the first time Axl used this sing along thing on a song.Do you like it?
Amir
I think it fits on Catcher, and to a lesser extent on Better. I prefer the added lyrics on the album cut of SOD ("that's one more failure") compared to the "nanana" of The Blues.

Gordon Comstock
It fits on Better and Catcher, less so on ITW. I'd be interested to hear what melodies he does on the next album, if it ever comes out. I prefer stuff like the end of Locomotive to just "na na na" though.
Facekicker
One of the worst things on CD.

liers
I was actually thinking about this yesterday.I couldn't imagine CITR without them, it just fits perfectly. I like them on Better too. ITW it's just completely random though.
IncitingChaos
Axl should have been told no when he started it...ok one song would have been ok but the screaming intros of scraped and Riad coupled with if the world, better, and catcher make it too much! It was an awful decision that distracts from the great instrumentals of CD.
Lies They Tell
I have nothing against those "na na na" parts. I just hope that there's none of that on the next album. Every album should have their own "thing", and Chinese Democracy is the GNR album with "na na na" parts and strange intros to songs. The next album should have it's own thing.
rock4eva
I love If The World and the footage of the Japanese shows where he shakes those marracas (sp) while na na naing I can watch over and over. He looked great in those shows, pity the footage isn't better.PS - notice my profile pic from those shows? drtydane
Never really thought about it. Can't say I really mind it tho. It surely never bothered me.
wasted
On Catcher it seems like it's the delerious mind set of the HCS suffer. Overall it makes me think of The Beatles or MJ.
BreakDown2014
The nanana on Catcher is one of the highlights of the song imo. On Better it's great specially when it keeps going on the background for the "if I were you I'd manage to...". On the ITW it's just . I wouldn't mind if he does it again on the new album, as long as it's not all over it
liers
It's strange how old GnR albums never had these... Things... Whatever they are called, but on CD Better, ITW, CITR, Scraped, Riad, IRS, and Madagascar all have it...That's half the songs. The intro to Scraped is just awful... IMO it would be a good song if it didn't open with Axl making strange noises.... IRS would be better without it in the intro too. Riad needs it most of all, The song would be empty without Axl's screams. Madagascar the long "oh iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii" is good, but I can't help but wonder if Axl just did that because he couldn't come up with lyrics. On Catcher it seems like it's the delerious mind set of the HCS suffer.Overall it makes me think of The Beatles or MJ.That's what makes it fit on CITR. wasted
All the Wow woahing on SCOM or You're Crazy. Now now now, now now.I kind of thought all of it comes from Dyer Maker. Oh oh, oh oh oh, oh

Bumblefeet
I read a review of CD at the time where the reviewer said that it took that much time to release CD and Axl couldn't come up with decent lyrics for those parts. I don't feel that way as I actually find those parts a nice break from the often heavy lyrics.
Free Bird
I hate them. I hate the "whooohoos" from Myles, too. Such a silly thing. You can't compare them to the AFD kind of singing
Słash
It never bothered me, its a nice addition, The Blues demo had nothing after Ahhh ahhh Ahhhh, but in the final version as Street of dream, he added Ahhh ahhh ahhh what i did, so that was nice

tomfriend
It's a shortcut to attempt to make a song anthemic in that, wave your lighter in the air style. No matter how drunk you are you can sing along. Nothing wrong with it.
magisme
It works on Catcher and Better. ITW sucks. The intro to Scraped might be the worst thing he ever recorded.
