Maybe the Girl Rock show is a private event and that's why they aren't advertising it or selling tickets.

Curious as to how long it's actually been on the site.

Check the calendar at The Troubadour website: http://www.troubadour.com/calendar/
When it's a private event, like the one on 04/07, there is no ticket option. The other open events show "sold out" or "get tickets", which leads me to believe the show on April 1st isn't a private event, since it shows "sold out".

It would be a really big coincidence if this really was a private event, too many coincidences with the other stuff we've gathered. Perhaps it's worth to take a look at the bands slated to play at the whisky and iron out a possible hoax band

Maybe someone could just call the troubadour and ask if it's a private event? I'm sure they can tell us that?

I'm grasping at straws looking for reasons that it isn't GNR (I'm hoping it is though), but it could've been something like tickets were only available for sale at the school itself, or maybe it's free admission and it wasn't marked correctly on the website.

Someone should just call pretending to be a journalist doing a story on the Girl Rock thing and try to get more info....

Yep, it could be.

Found another interesting thing on Facebook. Rock n' Roll Camp For Girls, which was the closest thing we could find to "Girl Rock (school) showcase" has events on Facebook too. There is one for April 3rd but guess what? Nothing for April 1st - and definetly not at The Troubadour:

That's the weirdest part about this. If you go on their Twitter page, they're counting down to an event on April 1st. Like literally saying "4 days left" and "2 days left" as recently as yesterday. But there's no mention of it anywhere.

ye we ironed that out a few pages ago, the rock camp for girls is definitely not related to GRS. They dont know anything about any event on April 1st

Oh sorry, I haven't seen that.

Well, I think I give up. Just gonna wait until tomorrow and try not to freak out in between.

Internet Archive's Wayback Machine has The Troubadour's calendar page archived on March 10, 13, and 23. The event wasn't on their calendar until the 23rd... see here: https://web.archive.org/web/20160323214058/http://www.troubadour.com/calendar/

Good find! One week is a little short notice for a school event, isn't it?

In case anyone is interested - I used Archive.org to look at previous captures of the calendar for the Troubadour to see when this event was added.  Has this Girl Rock thing been there for months - or was it added around the time Adler cancelled at the Whiskey to be somewhere else?

There is a capture for March 13 and one for March 23.  Adler cancelled on March 21.  The Girl Rock event is there on March 23.  If you look at March 13 however, all of the other events are on the calendar - but April 1 is blank.  No event.  So this event was added right around the same time Adler cancelled and was the only event on their April calendar added that late.

Oops - didn't see someone else posted this!

Yeah, we went through all this this morning.  We tweeted that group and they stated that their event is NOT at the Troubadour and that their event is on Sunday. Girl Rock Camp does at least exist and they have played at the Troubadour before....BUT...

.....Girl Rock School does not exists guys and gals...not in the LA area and the logo the Troubadour is using is a joke as well...a generic logo never used in association with any Girl Rock group.  And look at it...it's obviously a joke.  These rock groups like being associated with being cool like their real logo looks...not like a character out of Peanuts cartoon.  Common sense.

This was one big ruse as a placeholder.... it would look like they had an event there without too many people asking questions about Girl Rock.  People would see Girl Rock School and assume it was the same Girl Rock that played there before....and it is not.  Girl Rock School does not exist in LA.  Girl Rock camp does exist and they are not playing the Troubadour on Friday...confirmed by them.

I'm saying final guess: GNR at the Troubadour tomorrow night. 10 songs tops, no tickets sold.

Side note: how weird is it that out of all the things to use as a placeholder, they use a charitable foundation that actually exists in the LA area? Lol

That's certainly interesting.

Weird if it's a real event that sold out instantly (it's been listed as sold out ever since I started checking the site almost a week ago).

Am I an idiot? Because to me it looks like they are counting down to April 2nd. They posted the 3 days left tweet on March 30th.

March 30th their picture said 2 days left. So I was thinking 2 days from the 30th is the 1st

They are counting down to LRC2016.

It's a Ladies Rock Camp that is on April 1-3.

The event is at an elementary school in LA.
