I am sorry, but I had to laugh at your comment. It is just the way you wrote it tickled my funny bone as how it reads (with out reading between the lines from previous subjects) makes it seem like we need Izzy to get in there on vocals to give this any chance of being good (or maybe Izzy in there on drums and Matt in there on vocals). You said Drums were awful (Frank) and Vocals (Axl) were awful. Then immediately stated "the inclusion of those two clowns instead of Izzy and Matt totally destroys any chances of this being good". So we need to subtract Frank and Axl the clowns and add Matt and Izzy to give it a chance in being good. So "RIGHT" is just want you want, and not what the people in the band may want? They don't owe you anything. GNR version KOHD is one of the easiest songs to play, from guitar, drums, bass perspective. Frank's drumming, from what we can hear, more or less matches to the record from the bass, snare, and fills perspective. Not exact of course, but essentially the same. He is in time as well. WHat more could you ask for? The SOUND of the drums I don't particularly lik (which I'm guessing this is what ppl are complaining about more than what is being played by Frank), but that isn't due to his playing, that's due to the recording device's mic, the acoustics of the room, the mix, etc. etc Having Izzy/Gilby, and Matt/Steven doing KOTD wouldn't be much different. To nail the GNR version you essentially need Slash and Slash tone in semi decent form, and crucially Axl's voice correct. THe rhythm section of bass and bass/snare with drums is key as well, but they're so rudimental that those parts are extremely easy to replicate (so without disrespect to Duff and Matt - any musicans worth their salt can pull it off). ANd before everyone complains that I'm ripping into DUff n' Matt, quite frankly they nailed it originally by being able to make simple sound good and be confident to go with simple instead of over complicating things.
