We've been online and on forums for years so, not so much from this tour, but before with nuGN'R, Axl was totally aware of what was being said here and other Internet roads and sometimes he would comment onstage on different things. Being locked up in his room doesn't prevent him, actually encourages him, to surf the Internet and visit any place he wants to read.

Onstage he only makes jokes and talks silly things. So far, nothing of relevance or interest or seriousness regarding NOTHING. If he seems relaxed its because he plays goof and that's it. No rants, no talking about anything compromising. So yeah, of course, interviews make him nervous.

 

How are you that sure? It's true that being locked up most of the time might give him some time for internet use, but then again we don't know how he might be using it.  He's said he loves Netflix and we know he's read this forum a few times, but for example, the fact that he was supposedly surprised to see Steven the first night in BA makes me doubt of the extent of his awareness. (Sorry, can´t get over it yet)

As far as what he says on stage goes, the fact that he tells jokes is precisely what makes me think he's relaxed, and even some of his jokes are somewhat revealing as well - for example the ones about past and future wives, his love life, or his supposed ADD problem.  

In any case,  the "you are beautiful" comment was not a joke, and it would certainly be somewhat of a leap for him if it was for Melissa, but you never know with this man...

So I would not say that Slaxl today is totally nonexistent...I have seen moments here and there and have tried to post as many Slaxl pics as I can find from the tour...but sadly there are not many of them.  

I hope of course that we will see more as time goes on, as many of us here do! I would say though that this last leg of the tour they did seem more at ease, comfortable, and happy on stage with one another. 

But in the meantime....here is an oldschool Slaxl mvid to tide us girls over. It's really super sweet.

Plenty of examples, like what @MillionsOfSpiders pointed out, and other instances when he mentioned things he read in forums or websites and mentioned forum posters, personally replied to them, etc.

How was he surprised of seeing Steven in Buenos Aires? 

Everybody knew he was coming along and I don't think he wouldn't know of this. Maybe his surprise was seeing him first night (because he was supposed to play the second night).

That's what I said. His relaxation comes from this goofy character he plays now. It is a mask or maybe just the way he's found to cope with his temperament. Humor helps people relax and open themselves more but I don't think he will reveal anything important through his jokes. I wouldn't take it seriously the thing about the wives or ADHD.

I really don't think he likes Melissa that way and there's nothing going on between them. More precisely, I don't think he'd allow himself to get involved with someone he works with, knowing how problematic that can be.

No way he's in the best age, come on 

Best age of a guy is in their 30's. After that, they become unbearable with their middle age crisis, trying to live whatever they didn't live in their younger years, getting tattoos, young wives and bringing new babies to the world 

Ten years after that they realize they can't carry on with all of that and end up divorced again, in the misery again, but older with a heavier emotional load.

All my friends parents went through this and now regret it all.

I agree with this. He's at an age now where he is well established and mature. At 30 or even 40 for that matter, most men are still trying to figure out who they are and what the hell they want for themselves in five year's time.

hahaha you know, wild frizz and excessive jelwery aside, I would totally prefer to date Axl Rose now than in the 90s. I like how more relaxed he is now. The same goes for Duff or Slash - I like them now better than before. Men in their 30s are still quite inmature to me and these men in particular were a mess back then.

It's true too that many men show some sort of involution as they grow older, but I don't think that applies to our guys.

About Axl´s awareness, I understand the examples you refer to happened sporadically in the past, right? What I meant is that I don't remember him showing much awareness as of late, except for what he said about TB in the Brazilian interview last year maybe? About the Steven incident in BA, yes, what surprises me is that he apparently didn't know Steven was going to be in the stadium the first night, when everybody else seemed to do.

I like his goofy character! He´s always been kinda goofy actually, but the difference to me now is that he doesn't seem to be that angry with life anymore. Probably making amends with Slash, having GNR back at the top, and working with Angus have helped him leave old grudges behind and boost his self-esteem. So he might not need to rant any more, which would be a good thing for him if that was the case.

So the jokes are the crumbreads we fans get as to how he might be feeling or what he might think about some staff. Granted, they're not the old stage revelations we got back in the day but still, we can draw some inferences regardless of how serious they are...nothing huge though so far.

Melissa is not his type, definitely, but he's flirty with her. That might indicate that he likes her a bit, or that he's a tease

Both Axl and Slash are different people now than 25 years ago. Lack of Slaxl in their performance is probably mostly due to Slash being sober and clean. Slash said that being drunk/high helped him overcome his shyness, his stagefright, etc ... he was smiling more, joking around more, etc ... Nowadays he is more professional, more concentrated with his playing, so everything else is in the background.

Plus everyone knows were all the Slaxl Pics are - on their phones Okay, joking aside, but take Slash as example. He must have tons of lovely pics of Meegan, his kids, etc ... on his phone. So only because he doesnt post them, doesnt mean that they dont exist. So there is still hope for all the Slaxl-Fans

Interesting thought. It seems very likely to me too that he is using his goofy character as a mask, as a stage persona to stay relaxed, happy, focused and not to freak out over things. Like @solstar says, he always used to be goofy, we can see that in several videos and many people have said Axl is a fun loving guy, sometimes and sometimes not. So obviously he found a way to use this goofyness to relax, at least on stage. He found this stage persona somewhat recently, I think? Somehow that shows how important the NITL tour and Duff and Slash are to him.

True  But maybe she's also shyer than she looks? 

I really cannot say whether Axl could be into Melissa or not. Somehow I doubt it. But saying that, Axl is a weird one and a tease and as far as we know doesn't have a love interest. So maybe he forgot all about is favourite type (Brunette brazilian model) and goes for the prolonged teenager smurf hair type?  I don't know why I can picture that. So why not, whatever makes him happy.

And Meegan and Slash are good example of this ^^  The guys in the 90s would be fun for a week, the guys now are for the long haul. That's just how some guys are.  I think the Axl we see now is   the result of some really hard work on himself.  Back in the 90s can you imagine Axl being stuck in traffic in Australia and being refused a police escort (probably would have punched somebody).  And I love his Dubai traffic story when he says he would have been 3 hours late for the show, like the horror of the idea. Back in the day, that's exactly what he would have done.   

And the only explanation (and it's not even a good one, but I'll say it anyhow), for the Steven mess in BA is that Axl wasn't on the plane to SA, he flew down the next day, and he was in a different hotel from the band so maybe that could be the reason for the miscommunication?  I think that having structure and routine is a very good thing for someone like Axl and I think most people working with him realize that so it baffles me how that happened.

I think men in their 30's are in their prime, regarding everything.

Yes, there are lots of immature guys, but so there are women in their 30's or 40's as immature as them.

As for GN'R in particular, they were all a big mess in the 90's but Slash and Duff got better much faster than Axl so it is not a thing of being 50, actually.

I wouldn't like to date Axl now, much less in the 90's or 80's. He's a man with lots of unsolved issues, a circle of people who are nothing what I aspire to have around and his "family" is the weirdest shit. Any woman who wants to be part of that madness needs a really strong character and too much love to put up with Beta and her children, who will never put a foot aside and let another woman take part of Axl's fortune.

Axl depends too much on those people so the least a woman in her right mind wants is a guy so co-dependent who surrounds himself of a freak show.

It sucks but I'm always comparing Axl's life to that of Maradona. There are so many similarities that it is scary.

I don't know if everybody knew he was going to be there. I mean, for sure they knew they flew him to Buenos Aires, probably with a contract or some sort of document that said he would play only the second night. But I think Steven decided to go by himself to the stadium and show up just like that.

During the China Exchange interview he was asked by a fan about this and he responded two things. One that part of it was because of being young and part was because of being wild and rock' n roll. But at the same time he tried to deny his past behavior by saying that some of it was created by the press , then talked about the UK press saying he ran over his dogs and also ate them

In my opinion, the reason why he's not mad anymore is because he's making a lot of money with this reunion and got Slash and Duff back in his band. Not sure for how long but for the time being, his GN'R is back to some sort of legitimate place that it had lost before.

lol nah, I don't see him flirting with her. He does to her the same kind of goofy things he does to Slash and Duff.

She hugs him back and plays with him too so it doesn't seem to me that she's not receptive of those little jokes but that's all there is.

When Axl wants a woman he almost "buys" her. He's not fooling around for so long.
