One is a completely verifiable lie told by someone who, like me, is a secular fundamentalist. The other is a completely unverifiable claim made by whoeverthefuck at a time before modern science when recorded details were sketchy at best. :shrugs:

Last I heard, you were still a fan of the liar. You still into Bill Maher?

I still watch Real Time when it's on. But as far as liars are concerned I'd say that a bird who gets knocked up behind her husband's back and tells him that "god did it" to avoid a sticky demise at the sharp end of an oversized packet of gravel is pretty high up in the rankings.

I guess I just don't get why you have to over complicate what is so obviously a case of somebody who liked to put it about a bit in a time and place when putting it about a bit could get you stoned to death. Occam's Razor and all that. :shrugs:

Well more like the only answer because women don't tend to get spontaneously pregnant. Because biology.

Is it, really? And are you saying that your god is limited in capability to whatever humans can achieve in 2020?

:facepalm::lol:

If you read my follow up post, I clarified that statement.  And yes, a woman can be a virgin in 2020 and become impregnated.  You, out of all people, should be well aware of that.

And no, I don't believe God is limited by Man's technology.  Not even close.

Yeah but I don't believe in god so those things don't happen as far as I'm concerned.

....gonna be like "Just because you have space ships made of material never invented by the hands of man doesn't mean its aliens. (Or time travelers). It could be naturally occurring space ships"  :P:lol:

...gonna be more like "some guys think it is extraterrestrial while the scientific community is skeptical".

Im pro-disclsure, so its an exciting time in that regards. Also though, the midst of a pandemic while Murican cities burn... thats when the powers decided to disclose?

Eric Davis is part of the scientific community. But at the end of the day, I don't care how skeptical you are, as long as you are for the governments disclosing more information (videos, radar data, raw materials) and doing scientific analysis of said information, then I ain't mad at ya.

To be fair this current disclosure process was started during the Obama administration. The wikileaks dump of Podesta's emails showed that Tom Delonge was talking with folks in the government and saying he needed a team around him to pull this off, and now he has his TTSA crew. I think they were planning on slow disclosure all along.

Trump's invoking the Watchmen defence. Next thing you know we'll all be getting attacked by gigantic space squids.

There will always be dissenting voices within the scientific community. There are scientists that believe in all kinds of crazy stuff. What I meant is that I will trust the majority, because that's the rational thing.

And yes, of course governments should disclose anything they might have on extraterrestrial life! Btw, I have actually studied exobiology at university (!).

Apparently it's not "just material".  Apparently they are "Off World Vehicles Not Made on This Earth".  And the leading theory is that they could be vehicles used by future time traveling humans.

Very true. And accurate. Yet, I guess Im wondering like 'if they could wait this long, whats another year?'

And I guess Im asking that in regards to the long standing notion that humanity couldnt handle the news. Like, personally, I dont see why we couldn't. But if thats been the operating principle then this is an odd about face (to disclose what is said to be destabilizing info during an already unstable time).

Thats taking tentacle porn to whole new levels! lol

It really does seem that murky when you look at it from certain angles, though!

RayGun thought an alien invasion would unify the world. But RayGuns dead and Trump doesnt strike me as someone with the same desires

What’s the leading theory if you ask sane people?

These aren't conspiracy theorists, bud.   This time it is The Pentagon, scientists and astrophysicists who are reporting it and it's legitimate sources publishing it. (NY Times, Popular Mechanics).

I've always though the idea that 'governments won't disclose because the populace couldn't handle it' is a little overblown. I think governments are just desperate to get their hands on this technology and reverse engineer it so they can dominate the planet. Same geopolitics as always, just on steroids with alien tech. Does any government or governments have substantial alien tech? Maybe. And if they did, they'd be desperate to just quietly work on it behind the scenes and try to master it.

Edit: Is it any different than at the end of WWII when the US and Soviets had a mad dash to get their hands on the smartest German scientists? Why wouldn't they do the same with alien tech? There's nothing new under the sun, even if there are aliens!
