kanecrescente
Awful signal, golden circle was too big and filled with boring middle aged casuals on their phones so it was dead. Great show from the band tonight. Duff & Richard both stood out for me tonight. Edited July 1, 2023 by kanecrescente

Popular Post Heff
I’m just on the train back. I might do a more in depth review tomorrow but off the top of my head and while I’m still buzzing here goes… Firstly, a UK gig with no sound issues thank god! I was in the golden circle probably about 20 yards back. Secondly, Axl… he was in a great mood. Lots of crown interaction. He fell over at the start of Bad Obsession, quickly recovered and made light of it at the end of the song. Anyone who criticises Axl’s vocals tonight must be hearing impaired because I was pleasantly surprised just how good he was. He made a couple of references to putting in a lot of effort “I will continue busting my ass for you” and then he dedicated Absurd to “people who have been talking” or something like that. He also made a reference to “trying hard” at the end of Patience iirc. He seemed to be putting a lot of effort in and was working hard to control his voice, noticeable by some of his hand gestures. sole of the notes he hit were insane… the end of Rocket Queen, Civil War and a Jungle screams were off the charts The only minor weak points were parts of Coma (still probably the best version I’ve seen in the last few years) Slither was excellent, as was Pretty Tied Up and Reckless Life Songs that seems to go down best with the crowd (from my angle) were Brownstone, Live and Let die, YCBM, KOHD and Don’t Cry… obviously SCOM!! weird moments were most of the crowd not seeming to know estranged. The only low point for me was Slash’s solo. Boring and too long. Felt unnecessary in such a long set. Things I noticed personally that were great were Melissa‘s backing vocals, Richard & Slash seem to have a great connection these days. Generally speaking the band seemed to be enjoying themselves. It felt like Axl really wanted to make the last UK gig a great one. I saw them at the Olympic stadium a few years ago (I missed the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium debacle) and this was miles better. I’ve watched YouTube footage of every gig possible during throughout NITL up to now although I might be biased I think this was up there with the best of them. Another level to Glastonbury just a week or so ago! I had a fucking blast. 21
MrDeano
I had a great time at the show, no signal so couldn't follow it on the forum, I've seen guns over 6 times now and it's best axk has sounded since 2006 in my opinion 2
Popular Post Sausagebrain
What a show! I'll post more thoughts later but, for now, here's a picture of a rather unfortunate sign that the organisers put on the screen after the show... https://imgur.com/a/2q8wP1K 9
dave94
Just back to my hotel in London, a great show yet again from guns n roses. 3 hours, full on, didn’t even stop for an encore, Axl said they aren’t going to waste any time so they just rolled straight into Don’t Cry I think it was. Axl fell over a couple of times early on, but kept going, he seemed like he was in a really good mood kept interacting with the crowd, making jokes, it makes a difference. The only downer as others have noted, the golden circle was too big so not paying the premium meant the view was poor especially as there was some kind of corporate stand right in the middle too, and for whatever reason the crowd was incredibly boring Edited June 30, 2023 by dave94
Popular Post MyPrettyTiedUpMichelle
Just back from the show. It was great, better than I expected. Slash amazing as always. Duff was a little buried but then I am one for having him turned all the way up. Otherwise sound was good. Axl was as good as we can expect him to be. He really gives it his all and I'm reluctant to criticise him because he just tries so damn hard, and gives 110%. That being said, I wish he'd sing more often in the lower register because he sounds fucking amazing when he does. I don't think he appreciates just how good he sounds when he sings like that. The first half of Patience is a prime example, was brilliant. Like people, actually stopped their conversations to listen to him properly. Crowd was mixed. Lot of casuals who'd clearly paid to hear SCOM and NR and that's it. I know it's par for the course, but they still annoy the fuck out of me. They tend to go in big groups and talk loudly and clown around the entire time, including during quiet bits, or Slash's solos. It was absolutely rammed, and my friends and I all thought there were many more people there this year than for the Stones last year. Ditto no signal. What's up with that? Anyway thoroughly enjoyed myself and friends all thought it was fantastic. Glad I went after giving them a miss last year.
Axls Rocket Queen
Great show, good setlist and Axl and the band were on top form. Crowd was SHIT
Popular Post Sausagebrain
Best £45 I ever spent! - Caught the end of The Pretenders. Chrissie still sounds and looks great. - The screen graphics looked like a Nintendo game that had been designed by Monster energy. Oh well, there's a time and a place for good taste. - I was in the livelier part of the crowd (near the front of GA), full of people dancing and having a great time (me included - that is what being at a gig is all about). - Yes - golden circle was enormous. If that was a stadium show, something that size would have taken up nearly the whole pitch. And who's bright idea was it to put three enormous towers in there (obstructing the view of the peasants in GA)? - Axl sounds like a beast in his lower and mid ranges, but this does show up his lack of power on the high notes. Still, he hits them all. - Not sure if we'd miss Melissa's keyboards if they weren't there, but her backing vocals are amazing. - The guitar and bass mix was variable. Loud and clear on some songs, but inaudible on others (like Down On The Farm). - Some of Slash's playing is amazing, but there were times I wished he'd remembered that 'less is more' (like SCOM). - Richard and Slash are like Much Taylor and Keith Richards - seamlessly swapping rhythm and lead (Izzy and Slash were like Ronnie Wood and Keith - weaving around eachother). - Frank played some good fills. - I liked some of Dizzy's barrelhouse piano. - I enjoyed the lesser played songs the most. Coma was a treat. I even enjoyed Anything Goes, and I don't even like that song! Was this GnR's London swansong? Well it would be a better way to go out than the Spurs debacle last year.
Carburetta
I was there (third show this week), I have genuinely no recollection of Jungle, I don’t know, maybe the strange setlist ordering has thrown me. Anyway, it was pretty phenomenal. It felt pretty epic, London always gets good shows (obvious exceptions) the crowd was pretty good in the most part (as I often find for GN’R in London, even near the back of the rather large Golden circle, lots of people around me singing along). Axl for the first hour sounded as good as I’ve heard him in recent years, I was really surprised, I think Glasgow sounded strained, after Glasto, was back on the mark here. I thought the setlist was great, I wouldn’t have changed much, getting Coma and Don’t Cry was nice. The no encore thing was sweet, Axl said it was an insurance policy so they wouldn’t get cut off, and then afterwards said “we are Lloyds of London and we’d like to thank you for coming out tonight” and then straight into Paradise. There was almost a whole crowd singalong to November Rain which would have been pretty cool, it’s so well known now everyone knows all the words it seems. Venue was great, and big. It felt like a big crowd. BST Hyde Park seems a like a great event. The stage was enormous, with a full wrap around screens, it was quite impressive visually. And again, Absurd is a banger, it doesn’t sound out of place in a Guns set. Edited June 30, 2023 by Carburetta

SL138
best £38 ever spent - they played coma! i would have paid £38 just for coma alone.. unfortunately i was the only person singing it end to end and then I realised people around me were looking at me like im a freak for knowing coma's lyrics lol.. f them. axl didnt take an oxygen break before or during the song which i thought was crazy.. somewhat suicidal even. laryngitis around the corner. there were some mickey moments of course and i think hard skool absurd back to back was a mood killer for most but overall much better than tottenham concerts last year and probably better than the Nitl concert in the olympic stadium a couple of years back.. Carburetta
Susan was rocking out at the side of the stage, I think that’s an indication as to how good it was.
