He was drinking Stella on the piano during November Rain and they kept showing Axl's eyes up close and honestly he looked like he had been smoking weed...probably for the Leg, but he just seemed a little gone on that one. Highlights: that Jungle scream was incredible! Everyone was in awe, it was like the Rock Am Ring opening. Dont Cry and of course my Michelle with Bach...great energy on that one. The entire set was absolutely killer though. I was right by the speaker so I could hear him extremely clearly but then again the bass was really loud. D.. Posted April 10, 2016 Share Posted April 10, 2016 Really I have to give credits where it's due... Axl is clearly putting 100% of his heart & body into this. It's like he knows every single criticism we make, understands them, and proves us wrong. That's the way to go. You have to take criticism, understand them and try your best to improve, and that's exactly what Axl has done, I'm so happy for him. I have no complaint to make about this show, just say thank you to all the band, they kicked some serious ass tonight, they sound perfect, I didn't hear a single false note, it was impeccable. Sure Axl has some "miss" on some parts of some songs, but it's a HUGE improvement compared to 2011-14 and even Troubadour+last night. Overall he sounded fantastic and got a lot of his rasp back, you could tell he gave his all, he went all-out. Can't wait to see him back on feet and sing Coma again. I WILL buy tickets now, he has proved me he was still up for the mission, hehe. I haven't been posting much these last months because real life. My quick thoughts: Axl was on fire. Sure, Mickey is still there for some verses and choruses but I don't give a fuck anymore. The man is giving us his best. I'm not going to shit on him just because he's not rasping the shit out of the songs while sitting in a goddamn chair with a broken foot. We still have four or five shows coming up these next weeks - then June til August. Plenty of shows to see if he improves even more - and I'm pretty sure he will... but tonight, HE FUCKING KILLED IT. For years I have wanted to feel excited about this fucking band. Now I am. I have cried, screamed, gone apeshit and more and that's from watching a low-quality streaming. I mean, I haven't had the opportunity to be there and see them play live yet, but I will be there no matter what. I won't be waiting for them to play in Peru. I'm bringing my ass to the States. Thanks, Obama. Props to Axl Rose for delivering an A performance yesterday and an A+ performance today. It's been pretty much the joy of my life as a Gn'R fan. That's what I always wanted from him. To get out there and show the world he still got it. To be professional. To be the Axl Rose we all loved. I couldn't thank Slash enough for being the highlight of these shows. A guitar God who I have always loved, admired and supported. That Don't Cry solo made me cry, just like I cried watching him perform Coma, Estranged and November Rain for the first time in 23/24 years yesterday. None of those songs are easy to play, even if they're being performed by the same guy who wrote them. Duff will always be the Gn'R member I respect the most. Guy is a class act and I'm sure he's the one responsible for bringing Axl and Slash together. That's all. Good. Fucking. He did add more raspt to it, but I felt he had more control yesterday and the ending was better then. A good effort both nights. But all in all: WOW!! Really blasting vocals from Axl again.
