  1. I've tried to get into the albums with Josh, but they're just not that good IMO. Unlimited Love might have been a 'safe' comeback record, but Dream Canteen is by far their best album since Stadium Arcadium. I definitely prefer John...
  2. I don't know if it counts as a 'reunion' but AIC did everything right with Black Gives Way To Blue. They handled the 'comeback' very respectfully and the album itself was great. I saw Motley not long after their 2nd reunion, opening for Aerosmith in 2006. Vince gets a lot of shit for that year but I thought they were awesome, it was the last show of the tour so maybe they were trying to end on a high note. That whole Carnival Of Sins era was well done, they were playing deep cuts and new songs, some were even mild hits (If I Die Tomorrow got decent airplay at the time). But these days, I wouldn't even bother to see them for free...
  3. I don't give a shit if the official title ends up being The Fluffy Kitten Rainbow Ice Cream Monster - it's by far the best 'new' song we've heard this lineup play, the title is irrelevant. That said, these all should've been released before they even thought of an AFD box... these leftovers, a Duff song and a cover song would've been a solid album in 2016-17. Five years later they didn't really have a 'comeback song' since they hadn't gone away, but Absurd killed a lot of interest in new stuff. The singles have been fun for us, but there's no comeback single that's gonna suddenly gets tons of radio play, be used in movies, etc. The singles all had their flaws, but at their core they're just not A-list songs. Monsters is the only one we've heard that stands up to the rest of CD, imo. I think anyone hoping they write actual new music that's anywhere near as good as Monsters is gonna be very disappointed.
  4. He's got a 'blues album with guest singers' coming, unrelated to SMKC, but also wants to do another SMKC album at the end of the year.
  5. There was this pic that looks like it's from a video shoot... We wouldn't necessarily know in advance about a single, it could be a surprise drop at the same time as the album announcement. Drop the first single in March, wrap the SMKC tour, drop the album in May or June, tour, and repeat SMKC cycle at the end of the year...
  6. I'm guessing Myles will be on one song, but one song on an album isn't too bad... hopefully he's just on a bonus track (assuming there will be bonus tracks like the first Slash & Friends album).
  7. You're reading too much into it. GNR brought back a decent amount of deep cuts last year, and nobody should reasonably expect Axl to pull off DDM. Why would there be drama if he plays this one with SMKC?
  8. I'm kinda hoping for Josh Freese again 🤞 I wonder if part of the reason Brain was on tour with them in 2022 was because Slash was working on this album? I'd love to hear what Brain and Slash sound like on an actual new song. I don't think they ever did Parisienne Walkways, but there's a few Moore/Lynott songs I think they'd sound great on...
  9. I'd be happy if Axl was just playing piano... I hope there's at least 1 or 2 instrumental songs on this album, Slash was doing some nice bluesy solo spots a few years ago. I'd love a studio version of Wichita and I don't care whether it's released by GNR or Slash solo, it would be great. I always thought Parisienne Walkways would be a perfect fit for Axl and Slash to cover...
  10. Maybe Oklahoma only has one verse, and that will be Axl's contribution to the song, since I don't see him recording new vocals. I'm pretty sure we'll hear it in a few years on one of Duff's solo albums...
  11. If anything, the mistake was Duff calling it the 'sequel to Civil War'. But I don't think it really makes a difference because now, almost none of us actually expect this song to be finished and released. Imagine we finally hear the lyrics/vocals for Oklahoma, and after 3 decades it's been re-worked into a Duff song that still only has one verse from Axl...
  12. I would spend a stupid amount of money on a box set with all the CD era songs up to around 2010. All the demos have been better than the official versions. At the very least, Hardschool and Monsters were a bit dumbed down, but who knows when that actually happened... assuming they really did use the existing drums, and didn't re-structure the songs.
  13. The reddit mods are literally their PR team they've been censoring all criticism for a while now. https://www.thesyn.com/ Can we even be sure Axl's love for Taco Bell is "confirmed"?
  14. It was probably Slash... I'm sure someone here has the video, but he was playing it at a GNR soundcheck a year or two ago, and Duff goes 'what was that?'
  15. Are we reading the same forum? If they're gonna do an 'animated' video, do it properly. This is so poorly done that it's honestly funny. Whoever said this would look dated in 6 months was being very generous... Most here would've been happy with less - a simple live montage like Perhaps, or just a lyric video.
  16. Bad Apples would be cool as fuck! I can't imagine Todd (or Myles lol) on Perfect Crime but it'd be interesting to hear...
  17. Even worse than I expected it to be, and I had really low expectations. The constantly changing 'artwork' looks awful. I honestly laughed out loud when the AFD logo randomly appeared around 40 seconds. I don't hate the concept, but the result looks like shit.
  18. Yea, Sugar Cane is one of the few LTD songs I actually like
  19. Looking forward to seeing videos of Don't Damn Me
  20. I'm surprised they're doing more than a live video or lyric video, but if it's gonna have a story then they should do better than using AI. One step forward, two steps back - they finally do a video with an actual concept, but in the laziest way possible. It'll drop in about 2 hours (9 pst, midnight est)
  21. Yelawolf dropped another freestyle, and announced the first single from his new album is dropping February 16
  22. Some of the selects were in mono ffs But that's not really the point, of course the Ritz was better, it's a great release and was praised on here. Most selects seemed half-assed and got a mixed response. My point was that when the band releases something good, the responses are positive. Despite some oversensitive people thinking this place is full of haterz, the criticism of using AI is valid.
  23. Maybe you're reading my posts as more 'serious' than they are, idk. A cheap video for a throwaway song really isn't a big deal, but it's all we've got to discuss so that's what we're doing. You think I'm imagining the sloppy details in AI animation? Take a closer look at the clip then. There's some weirdo's on here who jump on any criticism as 'whining' or 'hating'. The clipping in The General should've been addressed before it was released, but those who point it out are 'bitching'. Sloppy AI shit from a band that absolutely could afford professional animators deserves criticism, but those who point it out are 'whining'. Give me a fucking break
