Georgy Zhukov
A lot of people here seem to love Brian May's better but I feel Ron's solo was more fit for the album.
James Bond
Not at all. I love Ron's solo. It kind of touched on what Brian did but took it a step further. Brian is amazing but he's done far better solos than what he did in Catcher. I know that some feel that the simplicity of his (Brian's) Catcher solo is what made it awesome and fit the song, which I understand, but Bumblefoot's is more exciting. WhazUp
I personally think that Ron's CITR solo from the acoustic show last year was the most badass Catcher solo yet
Bruno P.
The outro solo's where it's at. The outro solo. Oh, and Ron's rhythm as well...
Damn_Smooth
Add me to the group that prefers Ron. Predictable, I know.
Young_Gun
I actually prefer Ron's version also. The original(to me) was a little too brief, a little too bland.
RandallFlagg
I like them both, would have been nice to have May on for the damn fact that it's Brian May but it's rumoured he's on other tracks so we'll have to wait...
Georgy Zhukov
The outro solo's where it's at. The outro solo. Oh, and Ron's rhythm as well...Yeah you hear a lot more of Paul and Robin's rhythm in the demo. Ron made it more emotional.
evergreen_layne
Ron's solo clashes and jerks around. Its not pleasing to listen to. Brian's solo is melodic and flows. It takes the song to another level.

Powerage5
I prefer Brian's solo. I'm also not at all a fan of Ron's fretless stuff at the beginning. CITR is the only song where I prefer them demo over the final version.
batman007
I like both, but Ron is my pick. It just sounds more modern.
axl666
I like both, but Ron is my pick. It just sounds more modern.I like Ron's solos on catcher. However I think I'd prefer the outro solo to be removed as it makesit a bit difficult to hear Axl at points; there's too much going on in the mix. Use Your Delusion 1
Catcher is a bit overblown IMO, but May's solo was better, it's Brian fucking may after all Edited December 18, 2011 by Use Your Delusion

Demon Wolf
Love Ron but Brian's solo was sublime. Miss it.Brian's felt more integrated and melodic, it flows so well. Ron's is good but it fights for the spotlight with Axl's vocals instead of complimenting them like May's solo does. Voodoochild
I prefer the rhythm on the demo - there's a very cool lead by Robin (left channel) at the ending before May's ending solo. I miss that a lot. Aside from that, the album version is far superior IMHO.I prefer Brian's solo. I'm also not at all a fan of Ron's fretless stuff at the beginning. CITR is the only song where I prefer them demo over the final version. What fretless at the beginning?

I know you mentioned the rhythm on the left and it's nice, indeed, but the solo makes the loss understandable imo :xmassrudolph: Btw can you send me the demo version? I think I lost it - and all of the demos

Georgy Zhukov
It seems odd Ron's outro almost drowned out the more powerful lyrics of the song and Axl was ok with that. I always thought that kind of them would make him whine, but he's not a diva, he just wants to make a good song. I think the outro makes the song sound more powerful.
