Guns N' Roses PLAY TROUBADOUR LOS ANGELES, FRIDAY APRIL 1, 2016: Axl, Slash & Duff Reunited

Recommended Posts

for first night of the tour axl sounds fucking phenomenal considering. Had my doubts but as more clearer videos keep coming in, it's obvious that he's been working really hard and will continue to - the 'bad' moments are very very few and far between based on what we've seen.

So stoked for the guy, it looks like the beef with the original members weighed on his mind and soul more than his public opinions let us see. So damn excited to see the chemistry and improvements etc once they come down under after a year or so on the road

So, whos drumsticks were those Ahead sticks they posted? Ferrer used his regular wooden sticks

When every one was discussing the drumsticks when the pic first came I found it amusing to speculate that the drumsticks were snatched from some random dude because Fernando couldn't find the real ones and he needed to get the pic posted.

there is no way in this day and age they are going to do the spontaneous set list, everything nowadays is so controlled with the lighting and the mixing that the Set list is well established hours before the concert, I am sure every night might have a couple of songs that were different from the night before, but I am guessing at least 90% of the set list is exactly the same each night on the tour

That not actually how it works. Frank has a click track in his in ear monitor, precisely to keep the tempo the same every night to sync with the lighting. The lighting/pyro etc are largely automated and and synced with the click track for each song. Axl has a mute on his mic that mutes him through the P.A., but allows him to speak directly to the two guys at the sound board. If you stand near the soundboard, you can hear Axl speaking to them and calling audibles. All they have to do is trigger the pre programmed software for each track. Hell, they could have a lighting and effects program for every track in the GNR catalog.

Slash never ran around the stage like a 'wild pig' even when he was doing mountains of blow.

Like a wild boar. Just watch Paris 92 for some farm animal fun. Looks like he's fleeing a jungle fire.

"I know some who were there. And they tell me it’s all true, it’s all for real. That Steven actually was going to be there too but he hurt his back during rehearsals. They also told me some other things which I feel a douche for keeping to myself, but I’ve never been into spoilers. Why ruin the fun? This is the year when the fun is finally back to taunt us."

I'll have to hear The Seeker later. It wouldn't be what I'd choose to put in a GNR reunion set, but admittedly I did think NuGuns played it GREAT, so if Slash makes it better, I won't be upset. I never saw it live, so I would guess this'll be the definitive version.
