maynard
This was the best years for GNR fans since 1993. It's been hard to follow Axl all these years, especially after the failure that was CD and the multiple lineups, but I'm glad he gave Slash a call, made ammends and hit the road with his old friend. That's my favorite GNR moment. Seeing those guys not ignoring each other on and off stage. Axl sounds like shit, Slash's tone is not the same anymore, they're older, slower, less inspired, music is just business for them but it's still cool to witness the reunion. They should release at least a new song together.
RussTCB
Removed the list couple of off topic posts were you guys were insulting each other. @maynard& @Rovim, please take your personal war to PMs and don't derail this thread. Billsfan
For me it's a 3 way tie.. 1- April 1st. What a crazy day and without question to most enjoyable as far as being a forum member and talking to all of you. Crazy night too. All the talking the speculation, tmz, fan perescopes during the day, the tour being announced, etc. 2 - April 8th/ June 23rd in Detroit. That first show and the first perescopes. I mention Detroit because I couldn't stay up for the entire Vegas show but the Detroit one I could and it was amazing to watch and recap afterwards like a post game show. 3 - The return of Adler. It got to a point where we knew Adler was returning it was just when and, that was a complete surprise not many saw coming. Rovim
Everytime Adler played 1 to 2 songs it was both one of my favorites/shitty moments. It was clear Axl doesn't really wants him there. And Axl even joked about it at one show, said something like "enjoy it cause that's all you're gonna get" while chuckling. (said that to the crowd) Maybe next year for the AFD anniversary but I wouldn't be surprised if he'll just get 3 tunes or 1 or 2 again, if at all. But I guess it's better than nothing. It was cool seeing him up there, did a really good job. I just think it... needs more Adler. Edited December 24, 2016 by Rovim

That's all you're gonna get", meaning either "I don't have an answer, I don't know where Izzy is" or "Don't expect Izzy to be part of this". I didn't get why he said "good question". But I hope Steven will get to be a bigger part of the semi reunion in the future. Izzy got to play 5 tunes sometimes, Adler only 2 at the most. And he waited for so long for this to happen, probably more than anyone else. Edited December 24, 2016 by Rovim

Popular Post ZoSoRose
Oh man... great thread, @downzy 2016 was a whirl wind year for GNR. Definitely the best year to be a fan of the band since the old days, and it was the best year of being a fan for me. In my decade of being a die hard, I never thought we would get a reunion. There were a lot of high points in that period for me following Axl and NuGNR, and a lot of lows. My interest in the band definitely faded after the Hall of Fame. 2012 was a good year for me because I went to the HOF and saw the Up Close and Personal Tour, but 2013-2015 kind of made me stop caring. 2016, on the other hand, has provided me with the most GNR- related excitement since I was first starting to be a fan! Anyways, favorite moment without a doubt was the Vegas trip. It was an utterly special 4 day weekend. I got to share it with 2 of my best friends, one of which I have shared my love of GNR with since the beginning. We saw the band 3 times from 2010-2012 (2010 was our first time and one of our best memories), went to the HOF together, have seen Slash a bunch of times together, and more. He moved to Boston a few years ago so it was great for him to come to Vegas with me. My other friend isn't a diehard, but it was his first time seeing GNR and I was glad to share that with him. Exploring Vegas for the first time, meeting so many forumers and fans at various meetups, feeling like the city was taken over by GNR fans, the excitement and hype leading up to the gig, the fear surrounding the broken foot, the big fan meetup at NYNY, and finally, the show itself... it was all perfect. It felt like a massive GNR fan convention. There will never be a collection of fans like that in one place again, and I feel immensely lucky to have been a part of it. I met so many amazing people from here and the other forums. So many, I can't even tag you all. The show itself was phenomenal, and although the later stadium shows I saw in the summer were better, the Vegas 8th show can't be topped in terms of how special it was. Other great moments were the Detroit gig and the second Chicago gig. Why? Because I attended them! The day of the Detroit show I partied at @RussTCB's house with lots of friends from here and some new people, too. We listened to music, played darts, drank, talked, it was great. I made it to the show with only 20 minutes to spare but made the rail anyways. I was in the way back for Vegas, so it was great to be front and center again. Show blew my mind. Chicago was just as exciting. My Boston buddy was with me again and we went to a party with Russ and some other fans and forum members across the street from Soldier Field. Had a lot of fun chatting and then going to the gig. My friend and I had discounted Field tickets, but after spotting Fernando, he made sure me and my friend got into the pit! We got a great spot on Slash's side and saw another fantastic gig. I also have to mention finally meeting Axl this year with @Powerage5. It was after an Axl/DC gig, but hey, I can't NOT mention that. It was super sweet. April 1st was also one of the most exciting days to be a GNR fan, and seeing Steven playing with the band again was awesome. Lots of great moments!
