That doesn't really change the fact that it's an obscene amount of money though and that large scale concerts are well out of the reach of people whose "priorities" are their rent and bills.

I'm old enough to remember a time when music wasn't so elitist. It allowed me to see a lot of stuff I wouldn't be able to see now and fired up a lifetime's passion for music. Sad that others won't have that.

Obscene amount of money? Compared to what in today's market (you can't use "I remember a time" etc etc....how much was a corvette 40 years ago)?

A $2000 a year, once a day, starbucks addiction? A $1000 iphone that you "upgrade" every year? A smoking habit, a drinking habit? Eating out when you can buy 4x the food at the grocery store and cook it yourself?

We have none of the above. Up until last year I had an iphone 5 and wouldn't have gotten a new one (which btw was the current SE so I think $400)...wife still has the "old" iphone SE. We don't eat out, etc etc.

So while spending $6000 going to 2 GNR concerts may seem foolish to some, and you of course have that right to think that, I think the things I listed above are foolish. I'm more about experiences in life vs things. And going to GNR concerts is a blast, but even more so, brings back some very vivid memories of some of the best times in my life.

Like I said, all about priorities.

Like I said, all about priorities.

If you think $6000 for two concerts is a fair price, go for it.

I could compare concert tickets to a million things- but that argument is null and void. A sports car or a phone costing more is pretty much irrelevent to a concert ticket.

I'd say you might be slightly out of touch with reality if you think many people can drop $6000 on two concerts though, no matter what their 'priorities' are.

Many people couldn't possibly justify such an amount on a leisure activity. Great for you that you can, but that doesn't make it any less of an obscene price. It's rather arrogant to assume because you can dedicate that amount of money to a trivial activity that others can, or shouldn't see it as an obscene price.

Most people would clearly agree with me too- hence ticket prices being cut significantly and freebies given out in casinos and public places.

Enjoy the shows. Don't forget to shake your jewelry!

Edit: I see you're new to the forum, yet your posts all seem,  ummm, rather combative.....

Fair? It's fair to me like it's obscene to you.

You say it's a "leisure activity" (in other words not necessary) and for sure it is. You wouldn't classify a sports car as the same....or starbucks...or drinking...or smoking....or eating out with friends?

Slightly out of touch with reality? Why? Because my priorities don't line up with yours (or anyone else's for that matter). It's my reality.....and others I know.

Most people agree with you? Great...good for you. Maybe it makes you feel good.

And I don't have any jewelry and fwiw I was in the diamond/jewelry industry for 20 years and guess what? My wife has just a plain metal wedding band. Know why? Because that isn't important to her.

Oh here we go....yes I am "new to the forum". What....does that make me less of a person or what I say doesn't hold weight because I haven't been here long enough.

With regards to being combative....let's see you've attacked my personally by saying I'm "out of touch with reality" and calling me "arrogant".

Who's the combative one?

When someone pops up and every post seems to be very (and exclusively) abrasive, it is indeed rather odd.

Enjoy your $6000 splash out. You clearly seem rather sensitive about the price you paid and rather angry that others see it as a very high price to pay for a ticket. I can only speculate as to why......

Have fun.

A commentary on the tour as a whole so far since this seems like an appropriate thread to put it in.  Vocally, not the best for sure - even though Axl has improved compared to the first couple of gigs that occurred this year.  But I think everyone can agree that you can hear Axl struggling and trying to find some ways to adapt in certain vocal passages that he used to not have any issue with before - though that being said he seems happy and is keeping the energy going by being his energetic frontman self

The band instrumentally in my opinion is super tight, and honestly even Frank I have been happy with what I have been hearing.  The slightly slower tempos in some cases really benefit the songs, especially the heavy riffs in stuff like Civil War

Anyone with $6000 to spend on GN'R shows is very, very much in the minority. Having said that, the prices on everything GN'R has tried to market over the past 6 years or so, along with their ticket pricing shows that they (GN'R) are under the impression that people with that kind of money to spent on GN'R are in the majority.

I think you left something out. “To you”…..very abrasive and odd…to you.

So now I’m out of touch with reality, arrogant, sensitive, and angry. I love it when total strangers tell me what I am. Who’s combative?

We will have fun….living life and seeing GNR. You have fun pecking on the keyboard….

I'd suggest blocking me, if my thinking that gig ticket prices are obscene bothers you so hugely.

I'm fine for live GNR at the moment thanks. Have a list as long as my arm of new music to see.

Again, have fun.

I think If Axl doesn't work on his voice in the period after the OZ tour and the EU tour, his voice will be gone completely.

The FL shows are at a small 9,000 seat venue, might not be a ton of discounted tix.  Face value for the lower sections is over 400 bucks though..

400 bucks face value is obscene!  Absolutely crazy, I never have shelled out that much for one ticket, not even for the Stones when I saw them lol.  For that price Axl better have his 2010 voice back let alone his 2016 voice

Yup... They come to 462 each after fees.. That is for the whole lower section.. I honestly thought about it and may have other than the fact that it is hard for me to travel right now due to my old dog..  I mean I paid over 300 face value in 2016 for the Foxboro show.  It is crazy but I bet the energy at these shows will be off the charts..

But I agree it is out if control and there aren't many instances or bands I would do that for.

Tickets are over priced but when it’s the day before the show cheap

no problem TM  are pros and know must people will buy tickets for full pop so they can plan a head but I just wait for shows that are in my area wait down too the night before bam cheap deals Guns in LA floor seats under $100.00

all the shows are doing ok but not a Hugh demand the Napa bottle festival now you will pay full or close too it but I will not ever go to another one too hyped up

too many half ass bands  plus so expensive everything parking food drinks etc..

napa bottle is a Hugh $$$$$ grab for all bands so I get why they do them but it’s not 2 days of great bands it’s not a rock festival it’s a blind of  all types of music   Hard pass ... more of a Facebook Instagram look at me moment 😂

Anyone thinks they will shake the setlist a bit on the back to back shows this weekend on Atlantic City?? Atleast different encores in each show?

Check out the setlist of the last 2 shows in Las Vegas 2019. They changed the first two songs in the encore:
1st night - Dont Cry, Black Hole Sun, The Seeker, PC.
2nd night - Patience, Madagascar, The Seeker, PC.
Now they will play 1st night without, for example, Wichita Lineman, Dont Cry, Madagascar, and then they will return these songs to the setlist for the 2nd night.

I hope they do shake it up. They played the exact same set at the two shows in Chicago in 2016, other than Duff changing his song. They didn't even switch OTGM and Don't Cry with My Michelle and Patience like they were doing at that point.

That’s an excellent idea! Didn’t even think of that. Old and senile and all..😂
