  • RichardNixon changed the title to Use Your Illusion--original albums vs. remasters

The MFSL CDs are still the best versions. These remasters do cause ear fatigue after a few songs. Kind of disappointing on that level. Even if we got the album remixed, it would have been unfortunate if they were mastered in this fashion

The best thing about this release is the live stuff and the blu ray. Perhaps it convinces them to dig into their live vault a bit more

This poll results so far smack of (no offense to those who voted for the remasters) recency bias and ignorance. Check the dynamic range of these discs. They're crushed. The originals are empirically superior.

The only thing the remasters are good for is for studying textures and the different odds and ends that went into making them.

But the sound quality?

No way.

Usually when something is louder people just take it as being better at face value without listening more closely because louder does sound better to human ears at first.
