Guns' songs are not easy to sing, not surprised he has to accommodate his voice to still be able to sing these songs at his current age. (Axl's words) If you use the back of your throat, you hit your mixed voice, the very top of the midrange before switching to head voice (think One in a Million, "but you were much to hiiiiiigh") that's where Axl sang that. Axl basically in his prime, used his modal voice, and mixed voice, very rarely used his head voice. You Could Be Mine is basically all mixed voice, which is hard to maintain and hard to perfect anyway.Axl is now trying to sing almost everything in head voice and falsetto, which doesn't really work. It's like trying to play Randy Rhoads on something besides a guitar. You can make it sound similar, but if you don't have the instrument anymore, it won't sound the same. After seeing these videos I can't help but hope the real Axl will emerge one day cus this can not be him.
