Route66
Did Axl like it? I heard he did. I think his vocal over that would have been pretty fucking good...Closest imo to GNR sound for a while and i will never tire of listening to it.. all thanks to Izzy and Slash. Look at the old family tree of GNR.. it's always been like this. I really hope the guys that play well together and write songs together get to just not give a fuck one more time and do it.. the past is just that. maynard
It is a great rock song. We should talk about Slash's first solo album more.

DR DOOM
Yeah I love Ghost, it's a kick ass rock song and IMO one of the best things any of the guys from GNR have come out with since the UYI albums.I also like Promise a whole lot, Axl would have been good on that too. niceguy
When I first listened to that album, I was like, "wtf, this Ghost song is so incredibly good, on an instrumental level. The vocals are blah, but god damn! Nothing else on this album sounds like this song!"Then I saw that izzy co wrote it.

nico_france
Ghost is great. Slash and iZzy should play more together! It would be interesting to hear the VR demos with izzy. It must be better than contraband which is good but nothing more

Free Bird
Vocals on that demo are god awful but the instrumental is far better than on the album...But Izzy isn't credited as writer in the booklet. Słash
Im sure Axl would have heard all of Slash's Solo Albums, but where did you get the information that Axl liked Ghost or other songs from Slash?I think Ghost, Crucify the dead, Promise, You're A Lie, Anastasia would have been good GNR songsAlive from Adlers Appetite has a very close Appetite sound, Axl's vocals would have been perfect on them, even some songs from Back from the dead by Adler had a GNR sound to them Edited March 7, 2015 by Slash787
Ragnar
One of very few Post GNR Slash songs I like. It`s good.
MYWIFEMYLIFE
I neva liked anything Slash did except Aint life grand album, that vocal and the songs were fine.Adler is the only one who sticks to the AFD sound among them all, I cant understand why people ignore him, they should all come around Adler
TOS--LOA
Lol at those demo lyrics. But honestly I only think myles lyrics are a notch better. That's why I always dug the Slash album the lyrics on that one are great. And I never minded Scotts lyrics with VR either.
ludurigan
Izzy + Slash = it sounds greatSlash is a monster riff writer. He can write riffs and licks and what elseIzzy isa songwriter, he knows exactly what to do with his guitar to make Slash riffs and lyrics turn into a song.its that simple.

Asia
Slash's solo album is the only good record he has made since quitting GNR. Wish he could go back to it instead of wasting time with that joke of a singer and songwriter Myles who's just ruining everything Anastasia for example - some absolutely wonderful guitar work and so what? Then Myles comes in with his vocals and his lyrics and all I can think of is to turn the whole thing off The song is just ruined and it could have been a great one. If Slash cannot stand cooperating with a decent singer for a longer period of time then he should go back to short-time one-off projects like on the solo record with some people of talent... Słash
Does anyone knows if Izzy came in the studio with Slash to record his parts or Izzy just recorded at his home and sent it to Slash? Edited March 10, 2015 by Slash787
