Booked our room at the Monte Carlo. Best deal for somewhere close to the venue as far as I could tell.

Will probably book my flight later this week.

Also thinking about going to the Mike Tyson: The Undisputed Truth show on that Thursday at MGM. Anyone else possibly have any interest?

I just looked it up...looks like it would be pretty cool to attend...and possibly even meet Tyson....or get really close to him....looks like it's a comedy club type seating/atmosphere.  Thursday night is the G N' R fan meetup at the Hard Rock though, isn't it?

Think i may do the Tyson show also. Maybe the meet n greet for $250.  That will be awesome to see.

It is the same night as the fan meet up, but the Tyson show doesn't start until 10 and it's Vegas, so the real fans will be going all night anyway

The meet up is supposed to "start" around 9:30 but we can drink all day and at the Tyson show and then we'll be caught up by the time we get to the meet up :D

I'd like to go to the Tyson show but it'd be better to go with at least someone else. But the fan meetup it going to be awesome either way, but the party won't really be started until I'm there

Awesome bud....I'm sure you'll be happy with your choice when you get there.....this is the view of the venue from the Monte Carlo....(yeah, we're this close)

Monte Carlo Hotel And Casino - Las Vegas, NV, United States. mountain view from 31st floor suites. new entertainment arena being built.

As for why you were only charged a certain amount.....the total includes the resort fee which will be collected at the hotel....which is also negotiable if you gamble enough when you are there.  Make sure to register for a rewards card when you are at the casino so they track how much you gamble....if you play enough, they may waive some or all of the resort fee at checkout.

I have a rewards card and got a room for free at the Flamingo, but have to pay the resort fees. How do you get them to take those off? Do you just ask the person at the front desk?

Looks like a lot of people ended up at Monte Carlo which is cool. I'll be at Ballys saround 11am on Saturday so whenever anyone is up and recovered on Saturday, I'll be ready to meet up for drinks.

Sounds like a plan.

Hey man...I wanted to apologize to you and shoulda done so earlier.  I can't believe you got a flight from the UK to Vegas at the price you did.  Congrats on that and sorry for calling you out that you were full of it :)

Yeah, I believe so...if you gamble enough, they may waive it...that's what I've read, anyway.

CET/Total Rewards typically do not waive resort fees.  You have to gamble a ton...and I mean a ton for them to do so.  And at that you'd have enough rewards credits to pay the resort fee anyway.

Mlife is much more reasonable when it comes to waving the resort fee.

Maybe you should bring a tool kit and a hard hat?

lol...well, considering there will have already  been thousands of fans inside the venue by the time we get there, I think it's safe to assume the construction will be done by then :)

Depending how many nights you are there they usually will waive at least 1 resort fee.  Ask upon checkout, not check in.  And use your mlife card for everything at any MGM resort-

Aria, Bellagio, MGM, Mandalay Bay, Mirage, Monte Carlo, NYNY, Luxor & Excalibur.  You'll get points that you can use to deduct $ off at check out.
