I know they had some special deals with Slash before, do they know something we dont?

Babooshka
Yes, it has been version 1 for a while. The implication being that there will be a version 2. A re-recorded album with Duff and Slash, which imo is madness. Apart from signalling that the album can not stand on its own right. At this point, it's like beating two dozen dead horses. Why release a version two of the same album, that has clogged up 20 years of GNR's life. As opposed to an album of new material? It's like Axl is stuck and he doesn't even want to move on. Rovim
Sometimes I wonder how many versions of Chinese there are since the album was ready to be mixed in 1999. Edited March 2, 2016 by Rovim

Silent Jay
Remember, there is multiple versions of Knocking On Heaven's Door recorded in studio. Everything is possible. Quote The revamped band have also reportedly recorded four new versions of the BOB DYLAN classic and GNR live staple “Knockin' On Heavens Door”, including a reggae version, an "eclectic" rendition, and the version they played in concert at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, which is said to be “a much more slowed down version” than the one that appears on Use Your Illusion II. Stress Fracture
The current release isn't version 1 of Chinese Democracy anyway. More like version 100.
wasted
There must be a Beavan version. Then a Roy Thomas Baker version. Then there's a Constanzo version. Then Ron/Frank added parts with Rose/Constanzo. ?

I have an old article from October 1999, which states that by that time, the album was already re-recorded 3 times. only all gods of the world know, how many times was it re-recorded after OMG release. RussTCB
Nahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. It wasn't changed recently by any means as people noticed this at least a year ago. I'm sure this was just something in the metadata that refers to the 2 other covers.
