I thought the 4/9 Reaper shirt was the best but I only went Friday night. I got the April 8 and 9 Vegas shirt and the Vegas Coachella Mexico shirt. I didn't care for the April 8 only shirt. The koozies are sweet I grabbed two for double fisting drinks.

I think they were only $40. $45 was XXL on up at least the two I got were $40. Yeah I was expecting $60 per.

The one outside was probably a half-hour wait at any given time throughout the whole day. The ones inside were long too but on the top floor they weren't too bad. I was in the pit both nights and have to say I found night 1 to be far superior. It was just fuckin electric, and even I (a smoker) managed to sing along word for word to Coma because it was just so incredible to be there and witness.

I didn't take my mobile phone out of my pocket all night to take even a single photo - I felt so privileged to not only be at the gig, but to also be in the pit, like fuck I would be wasting a single second watching it through my iphone lol. Shame on all of you who didn't notice the 50 other cameras in the pit recording the gig and yet still felt compelled to record it yourselves Someone in the pit actually asked me and a few others to "calm down" because they were trying to film on their phone...... haha! You're at the wrong fuckin concert buddy, Miley Cyrus is thatta way!

Glad I made the decision to go to Vegas, even if I was gutted that Izzy didn't make an appearance. I feel like I made some true friends for life over that weekend in Vegas. We were all part of a very much once-in-a-lifetime event and witnessed something truly special on night 1, and already I felt the magic just wasn't quite the same on night 2 (even if the bands performance was technically superior). Maybe I was just so fucked from night 1 that I couldn't truly appreciate night 2? (very much a possibility!)

Haha! I was moshing hard for the first 10 songs or so but I was in so much pain from rocking out on night 1 that I had to calm down. I also spent a lot of night 2 just holding up a lighter as it seemed like an easy way to show appreciation for every song without doing myself a permanent injury, and it was better than holding up a phone I bailed on night #2 just after Sebastien Bach/My Michelle as my body just couldn't take any more. Went to get a bottle of water and found myself keeled over in pain because my Deep Heat patch had fallen off during the gig without me realising

After the first show went so well for me, I was facing a bit of a dilemma, as I didn't have a ticket for the second show. The question was, whether I should be content with what I had on the first show and just settle for any seat in the arena for the second one or not even try to go at all and keep that amazing experience of the first show in my mind. Going to the second one and sitting somewhere in the stands was not appealing to me at all though (no matter how hard I tried to convince myself that it would be okay) and I couldn't count on just walking onto the floor and into the front again, thus it most likely would ruin the experience I had before and end my Vegas trip in dissapointment. So throughout the day, while checking out the strip, I kept thinking on what I should to. I tried to check the AXS website a couple of times, but the connection was bad and I never really got to see what was available. So my plan was to go the MGM/Venue box office and check out what was available and to decide then. At around 4, after roaming the strip for hours, I suddenly got somewhat anxcious thinking that I finally should make my way down there, if I want to have a chance at a decent ticket after all, but there were so many interesting things to see, that it still took me 2 more hours to get there. So when I finally was there, I asked what was available. I was offered some ticket in the 200s section. Not appealing at all. So I asked if they didn't have something else and the woman at the boxoffice was like, "Well, for 350... but you won't be able to sit... you would have to stand.". She almost was apologetically for even having the nerve to offer a ticket for 350 $ without a chance to sit, but I was just like "OMG, give it to me.". So since it was 6 already, I thought I might as well queue up (originally I had planned to see Michael Jackson One Cirque de suleil show at 7 and then come back for the show afterwards, but 500 $ for one night of entertainment seemed a bit much) and see what happens then, despite those early entry ticket holders. So while waiting, there were some cool people and it wasn't that bad. When the doors opened, shortly after 8, I stormed in, only to see the front row and most of second row occupied. I could have gotten to the front row on the far left, but that wasn't appealing. So I settled for third row in the middle towards Slash's side. Somehow again I ended up bethind the tallest guys in that row. But between them there was a little space where I could see through, so in an effort to make sure that they wouldn't move closer together and thus block my view, I put my foot there (on the platform of the barrier), to make sure that my sightline wouldn't get obscured. So I kinda had a second/third row experience. For some songs it was possible to stand there sideways, so I got a pretty good view (helped by the fact that this time they left Axl's chair in the middle). And then approximatly in the middle of the show, the unthinkable happened. One of the guys left his spot and walked out and so the second row was mine. Victory again. So really, the second night topped the first night, in terms of the show and my personal luck/spot in the arena. I was so happy that I did go to the second show after all.

Ok, so I've had almost a week to think about this and I think I'm ready to call the 04/09/2016 Guns N' Roses show the single greatest concert I've ever seen. My top 5 is now officially ranked as such which is obviously all highly subjective due to my like of each artist in general:


1) Guns N' Roses, Las Vegas, 04/09/2016
An amazing concert for so many reasons not limited to; the line up, the set list, the city, the company I was able to keep, the energy and Axl's voice in general

2) Prince, Detroit, 04/09/2015
3-hour clinic on how exactly to perform music for a crowd of people. I was lucky enough to get a soundboard recording of this show and still can't believe I saw it in person. As a side note, I didn't realize until writing this up that it was exactly one year to the day before GN'R.

3) Jack White, Detroit, 04/30/2014
This was almost a dead tie with Prince due to length of show and energy from the entire band. I saw the same tour in the same city but at a different venue 2 days prior and the difference was night & day. Monday's show was good but not great due to a lame, cell phone checking crowd. Wednesday's show was completely unchained as if JWIII was determined to make up for Monday's show.

4) Roger Waters-The Wall, Auburn Hills, 10/24/2010
My favorite album of all time performed by the guy who wrote it along with arguably the greatest I drew front row center in a lottery on Roger's site which made this all the more sweet. It wouldn't have mattered where I sat and I actually sat in the very last row on purpose when I saw the same tour 2 years later. The second show almost edged the first one out due to me meeting Roger earlier in the day, but the first one gets the edge for the pure magic of it being the first time. 

5) The Black Crowes, Detroit, 08/20/2010
No opener, a 90 minute acoustic set followed by a 90 minute electric set and one of the best overall setlists I've ever experience in my 20+ Crowes shows. This is another one that I have the soundboard recording of and still amazes me that I got to see in person.

@RussTCB The most impressive part of your list is how you managed to see Prince and Guns the same night and then time traveled to see Prince and Roger Waters! Do they charge extra in the venue parking garages for the DeLorean?

I fixed the years just a second ago. I was so concentrated on writing little memories of each show, that I got the damn years wrong lol.

It wasn't when I first submitted the post. GN'R and Prince were listed on the same day and others were listed as 2016, so they would not have happened yet.

1. Billy Joel Sept 2008 @ Shea-Just look at the guest stars and you'll understand.

2. GnR 4th Show 2006 @ Hammerstein-Izzy, small venue, Bach, intense and raw.  

3. Gnr 2nd Vegas show 2016-Ya'll know why

4. Pearl Jam May 2010 @ MSG-PJ at the Garden does something to me that nothing else does.  I get euphoric in way that nothing else can do to me.  It takes me days to come down.  2 more weeks and I get to do it again!  Whoo fucking hoo!

5. I'm gonna go with one of several Green Day shows.  Every time I've seen them they have brought it.  Once at MSG and Foxboro as part of an all day festival come to mind.  The one at Foxboro they ended the set by putting all their instruments in a heap, dousing it in lighter fluid and setting the whole fucking thing on fire.  It was totally badass. They're just an awesome live band.

Not sure if any of the eagle eyed posters have mentioned this or not but I was watching a clip of Paradise City from the Saturday night show and if you're a good lip reader you can catch Slash singing his classic line "where the girls are fat and they got big titties" and then breaks into a grin. Anyway I thought it was kind of amusing...from the 2:45 mark
