I have seen Avatar twice now, the first time around I was blown away by what I saw, especailly those flying scenes, absolutely incredible, but I had reservations about the story, plot, characters etc... The second time it was still great to look at but whenever the story came into play I honestly almost fell asleep, it confirmed my reservations the first time. The characters are uninvolving and the story line is predictable (not just because I was seeing it a second time) and since the characters play second fiddle to the effects it's hard to care who wins or loses which doesn't help since, as I said, it is very predictable. I honestly think with a better story and more character development this could of been one of the best films of the decade but in saying that this defiantly is the future of cinema.

2. There Will Be Blood

3. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

4. Memento

8. Lost in Translation

15. Mulholland Drive

16. Kill Bill, I & II

I've only seen these off your list. My only comment is that Memento and Lost in Translation absolutely blow Eternal Sunshine ... away.

It does make for a hilarious Porn parody of Snatch Aadms.

I expect there's a penis with a red nose thing on somewhere in there? :rofl-lol:

Angelica????

And who do you all think is more desporate to win an Oscar - Jim Carrey or Will Smith? They both went thru a spell where they did movies specifically designed to try and win the award.

The answer is Tom Cruise

Currently in the middle of my annual New Year's Eve movie-thon. So far I've watched:

-Paranormal Activity

-Village Of The Damned

-Bruno

-The Maiden Heist

-District 9

My thoughts on these:

-Paranormal Activity: Still entertaining after 4 viewings, though it was only slightly creepy the first time and has no scare value left on the fourth.

-Village Of The Damned: Great old-school horror movie. Again, only slightly unsettling, but a classic.

-Bruno: Fucking awful. I loved Borat, but to me this is just tasteless. Only got about halfway through it before I was too disgusted to finish it.

-The Maiden Heist: Not funny, but it was still entertaining with Morgan Freeman and Christopher Walken.

-District 9: Has been my favorite movie of all time since I saw it opening day at the theater. It's an amazing movie.

watched inglorious basterds and i was blow the F away. it was amazing. the first Q.T movie ive seen since a youngin and it was very fun. a bit of everything. i enspecially liked how any relevence to history went out the fucking window in the last 5 minutes when they

kill hitler

favourite part has to be when

the jew hunter is surrendering and brad pitt goes "to end the war tonight, ild make that deal, Utivich you make that deal?

then it cuts to bj novak, scalping the dead german, "yeah ild make that deal". i dont know why but i actually came out of my chair. and my pants.

"they call me the little man?"

i enjoyed the bj novak aspect because i loved when the 'ryan' character on the office was a nobody, he was so funny, then he became a big wig and it wasnt as good, but this movie sorto f had him back in the 'little man' role if you will, and it was sweet. kind of like 'andy' from the office in the hangover. it was the same frigging character.
