tomfriend
If he's out, they need to kill the band.Oh fuck off. Why? God please don't come with the 'Integrity' crap again. They've already changed lead singer once and toured with other drummers.Speaking of which the 'Lock Up Your Drummer' tour has a nice ring to it.

tomfriend
I don't see what the big deal is. Sometimes you need to have someone murdered. It's the laziness and delegation on his part that's annoying. If he can bash the skins for a 2 hour concert surely he can bludgeon someone to death with a blunt object. Cut out the middle man, Rudd, you lazy twat.
DirtyDeeds
It's not like it's exactly hard to replace AC/DC's drummer anyway. While it would seem that way, the two other drummers they had contributed to a very different sound, especially live. Phil is by far my favorite. DirtyDeeds
Yeah Simon was better than Chris. If you listen to the Live at Donington album, Chris is drumming way, way too fast. Simon was closer to what the AC/DC sound was. But still, due process and all that, plus Phil is rich and can get a good lawyer; he may get off with a slap on the wrist, after all. Anybody think there's any chance he was trying to off one of the band members?
James Bond
AC/DC just posted this on their website, likely due to the flood of comments:We've only become aware of Phil's arrest as the news was breaking. We have no further comment. Phil's absence will not affect the release of our new album Rock or Bust and upcoming tour next year. The whole thing is pretty crazy. Apparently Brian told some fans at the video shoot that Phil had to bail at the last minute because of a "family emergency" but now I'm guessing either that was pure speculation and Brian said nothing or that it was temporary damage control.I thought the whole photo thing was weird. You'd think they would have just rescheduled the photo shoot for when Phil became available but obviously something was brewing. I didn't expect that it was a falling out considering how positive Phil has been about the band continuing and not retiring. The band's silence was strange, even though they've always kept things under the radar.I disagree that this should be the end of the band. The core of Brian, Angus, and Cliff has been there for 34 years and counting. Malcolm leaving was unfortunate but Stevie is a fine way to keep it in the family. My guess is they'll tour with the guy who filled in at the video shoot but I'd welcome back Simon or Chris. So what that Chris is 68? Brian is 67 so is he too old to tour too? Chris can still drum and even has an AC/DC tribute band called Steel Circle.

Has he done...anything since Dio died?He toured with "Dio's Disciples" until recently, I think. Also, he's in the other Queensryche, or Geoff Tate's solo band, or Operation: Mindcrime, or whatever the hell they're calling it since the lawsuit. Or he was last I checked, but that band is such a revolving door of musicians it wouldn't shock me if he was booted or quit recently. Recording wise, I'm pretty sure he played on three or four songs on Frequency Unknown, but I think that's it. He might be busy recording a new trilogy of albums with Tate, but like I said, the man's band is a revolving door, so who knows.

PITBOSS
yeah obviously we don't have all the details yet, but I was curious if he was pissed off maybe they booted him out of the band and he wanted retribution.obviously he will probably worm out of this with a good lawyer, but he is probably out of the band at this point.what if this was some awesome hardcore album promo lol? phil is an idiot if he gets convicted of this, the dude is rich and probably has anything he could wish for. Teroz
No way to Simon. Slade is superior and Donnington - fast?! Yes indeed, but it would have not been that fast if Mal and Ang would have not approved. That is the way they wanted the band to sound and Slade brought his own style and did not just try to be a cheap copy of Rudd. Slade is my #1 choice, Wright far far behind and even further behind is the most likely choice Bob Richards.

ManetsBR
As much as I like Slade, he ain't coming back. Rudd's drum tech Bob Richards already filled in for the video shoot. That's the guy. I guarantee Angus has everything already set. New guy being on the video it's for the fans to recognize him on the tour. As for Rudd...This was him on the latest tour:This is him now:Don't do meth, guys.
