He doesn't nail the screaming part during the bridge (the "I never wanted you to be..." part) compared to San Diego and the 2nd LA show. Also Slash fucks up the 2nd solo a bit, he plays some brown notes Edited November 6, 2016 by Mendez

He's on the verge of completing one of his best years ever...I'd hate to know it's been derailed by something medical. Good news is he's still up there fighting, let him get through this run and we can see where he's at after. I think it's fair for people like me who have complained about the vocal work on this tour to start backing off a bit. Axl deserves a free pass this time after the year he's had, and I keep hearing this rumor that something's wrong with him. So just trying to stay positive. I think the part that Slash enjoys playing is the chorus riff. On most of the videos I've seen and the shows I went to, he always jumps right before it (in anticipation of it, the same way he jumps to Adler's snare right before My Michelle's main riff starts), he does the same thing on "Sorry" right before the last chorus comes in. I don't know if he particularity enjoys the bridge riff (the one right after the 1st solo). I don't know if thats because he can't move around much because he has to stay near his stage rig to get his slide/mess with any pedals that are used in the solos, or because the riff doesn't interest him that much. He does the same thing on There Was a Time during the chorus riff (which I think is a fairly simple, but pretty cool riff), but on There Was a Time he's always using his pedal board/stage rig (using the wah and what I think is a tremolo or flanger during the verses and the solos). Fortus does the same thing on There Was a Time's chorus, but with him he's engage/disengaging a pedal (I assume an over drive pedal because the rhythm for the verses call for a very low gain sound, whlle the chorus riff calls for a high gain sound. Then during the 1st solo he uses some sort of acoustic guitar emulator pedal to do Axl's acoustic part. All that being said, I'm over-analyzing everything. Haha that's the fun part, you seem far more musically skilled than myself in terms of knowing the technical side of instruments but yea I guess Slash just never looks impressed with the guitar work from CD so he does his best to keep it original and make it his own at the same time. To me his favorite is Chinese Democracy. He just looks more into it, I might be looking too far into it, but yea to me it also sounds the best from CD

Better is slower tempo, There Was a Time is slower tempo than Better, and Sorry is slower tempo than There Was a Time. (Not counting Catcher because thats not really a song you can headbang to lol, although the demo of it was far more "rocking" than the album version, the Josh Freese's drums were super good during the "you decide, cause I wont have to" part. Plus the backing riff for the "ooh, the catcher in the rye again" part is pretty cool too, in my opinion of course) Edited November 7, 2016 by Mendez

Popular Post argen17793
hola amigos, last show in Argentina!! it was wonderful again though this time i did not get as good seats as friday. the show started like 30 min late, Its so easy - brownstone- chinese very powerful ( una máquina!!!) I remember axl said a couple things to the audience..I think he said " it´s beautiful here" and thanked the people for attending the show on a Saturday night. he said something else I couldn t hear partially for all the noise and because i dont speak much English i think slash was the best of all, jumping and playing like a maniac, he even broke a string of his guitar.Total Loco!!. When axl introduce slash the whole stadium went down!! like a big "thank you". I heard duff 's voice a little loud, especially at the end of November Rain, I couldn t hear axl. About slash : i liked Coma ( awesome) . Axl : this I love (such a difficult song to sing, so many highs and lows, and people cheered him). and to see Steven again was great. he should have more songs!!! The crowd cheered steven so much it was insane. this is the end of my one week vacation. three shows in one week !! Im tired and no money but it was worthy. Vamos Argentina
HOOSIER GUNZ
It might be fitting to play the robin finck solo to better or perhaps see if Richard could try to match up to the robin solo...it just flows better to the dynamic of that song...it's what really rounds out that song for me. Popular Post BorderlineCrazy
Don't know what to say anymore! I was REALLY tired before the show even started but that didn't prevent me from having another wonderful night, still enjoyed it to the fullest. Axl talked a bit more this time (told us that it's beautiful here and that we're beautiful and later on he thanked us for our support "not only now but throughout the years") and did a great job both as a singer and frontman. He sat down for a moment during Coma, maybe he considered the possibility of singing it that way as being in the throne made it a bit easier for him. It didn't last more than a few seconds, though so I'm not sure if it was that or what was that about. Anyway, he was amazing once again!! Duff got better and better show after show, he had HUGE stage presence, the bass sounded sick (if there's a video, listen to the bass on Civil War's verses!), his backing vocals were awesome (except on Patience)... everytime he got close, the crowd reacted to him. It means a lot having him back full time as a member of the band, the way it's supposed to be. Steven is the most adorable guy in the world. Needless to say, he rocked My Michelle, he played it to perfection. On top of that, his smile and charisma made an already incredible night a whole lot better. Even though it's true that I wish he would have been allowed to play more, I'm extremely happy he got to be a part of it because what I really wanted (long before there were rumours of him coming or anything) was to have him here to recieve all of our love. There are many fans who love him and I wanted him to see it, to feel it. I'm really satisfied because I'm sure it meant a lot to him and he'll never forget it (and neither will I). Richard was great again. I don't think he's the best fit for this band but he's a really good guitar player and always delivers, if someone from Axl's band was to be in GNR, I'm glad it's him. Frank on the other hand, I don't think he's a bad drummer at all but I do think he's a terrible fit for GNR, he doesn't seem to get it IMO. He's come a long way since april, though, I don't think he reaches the point of ruining songs anymore, which is good. And Melissa, well I'm not a fan of the effects and all those things that she's supposed to be there to bring but I don't think she has a negative effect in any song and I totally love her voice. And then there's that other guy... I don't even know what to say, I love him so much that I could never be objective at all but whatever... After he quit GNR, I've seen a lot of people talk shit about him, claim they were glad he was gone, calling him mediocre, and even say his replacements were better than him. SLASH is a living legend, he doesn't need to prove himself at all but it's been a beautiful experience to see him own the shows and prove all those haters wrong to the point of questioning their sanity. He's an absolute monster like nothing else I've ever seen, that "half-man, half-beast" speach is the pure truth, every single word of it. Even when I might disagree with some of his decisions/actions since rejoining the band, I'm certain that the idea of him being back just for the money is absolute bullshit. I saw him there having the time of his life, smiling Steven style, going crazy and making sure every single person in the audience left the place with their minds blown. I could go on forever... I mean, this motherfucker broke a string just as he started playing Double Talkin' Jive, went on like nothing happend and just nailed the fn' song, outro solo included. I had already seen him 7 times prior to this GNR thing, yet he never ceases to amaze me. A new GNR album would help him cement his status as a legend (and Axl's as well) but regardless of what anyone else thinks, he's already the greatest to me and that's all I care about! Last but not least, I'd like to express my gratitude to the one and only Izzy Stradlin. He was the only original member who didn't join the party but without his vision and immense talent, there would have been no party at all. Thank you so much, Izzy! You too are a legend to me! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now it's Brazil's turn!! I'm so excited for all our friends over there!! I hope you guys will get to see Steven and the band will introduce those songs that have been soundchecked to the setlist. But even if none of that happens, I assure you, you're gonna have the best of times!! Enjoy it as much as you can, it goes by fast but it will leave and indelible mark in your hearts! Cheers, guys!!
