Did the label push for that...if so good on them... By the way that pre save animation with the 8 ball seems to have been adapted into an out now animation graphic on the website, anyone notice? The artwork was done and all the merch is for pre-order anyway, so my guess is the delay was probably so they could do the 'exclusive' release on Audacy radio stations. No band that was once as big as GnR was ever recaptures the magic that made it so great so in their 60s. I challenge anyone to name a band that has done that. U2 continues to release tons of musics as does Springsteen. Is it as good as their earlier stuff / I don’t know because their earlier stuff came before it. At some point bands become a derivative of themselves and their music sounds the same. I give Axl credit he tried to do something different than just repeating appetite and the illusions. Did he succeed? Not as great as he hoped but he didn’t embarrass tte catalog. All bands put out stinkers. Why is there an impression that every song Axl is involved in will be a masterpiece. Many of the songs on Chinese would have been big if they were released by the original band in their heyday. No bad stays on top forever. bottom line - perhaps is a fine song. The only thing I’ve seen that’s been fluid since the release has been this whole narrative of “Perhaps” being a new song written by Axl, Slash, Duff this year… It was removed from the official store description of the vinyl and was only mentioned in the initial release used for the radio premiere. Seems to me that Perhaps the record company/Live Nation/Management wanted to market the song as new original composition and maybe the band or Axl wasn’t comfortable with this type of dishonesty… What was Axl getting at with his immaculate conception quote about writing the song? 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Crazy that it took them 3 singles to release a full live montage video, but at least they finally did it. It kinda seems like, by some miracle, they learned from the botched Hardschool release. Release the song, video, physical and merch all at the same time like a normal band, and more fans will respond positively.
