No, it doesn't lol.

People forget how much that band was ridiculed. Outright REJECTED from the start. It was a fuckin circus. 3 guitarists playing Slash's parts. So unnecessary and stupid.

3 guitarrists to play all chidem parts.

2 years touring in 2 different bands, 2/3 hour shows....it's clear that axl's voice can't take this shit anymore. He has to keep up for his voice...

Why can Axl sing fine with AC/DC but sounds crap with Guns. There’s flashes of the old Axl, but not for an entire song.

I saw Guns 3 times on the NITL tour and while some parts were brilliant, mostly I was just bored out of my tits.

Whereas I saw The Stones 5 times on their current tour and they blew me away each time. There was fuck ups, dud notes, missed que’s. But it was live and real, and they got better every show, the songs were changed around to accommodate age but they played the songs live and differently each night.

I also got £90 & £400 tickets for £35 with the Lucky Dip tickets. The Stones felt honest. They’re not the same band they were in 72, but I don’t expect them to be. Its 2018. I expect them to still be a band though and they are.

Slash and Du$$ coming back has been an anti climax. The Chinese songs were  toured for almost 10 years. Pull your ginger head out of your arse Axl and cut out the shite. I don’t want a 3 hour show. I want 2 hours of YOUR music! Not an hours worth of fucking cover songs. The whole thing smacks of money. The stage show is to distract you from the car crash you’re hearing.

Keith is the soul of the Stones, he keeps them a band. Izzy was the soul of Guns, he wanted to keep them a band.

It would have made more sense for them to have toured 10,000 seater venues each year from 1991 until right now than have all the members leave and the band gone awol for years.

The original 4 minus the ginge would be great.

They would be under the GNR name like Axl was for 15 years. They would still sell, and they would play all GNR songs.

Who knows? They might even release a new album.

I wouldnt support them as i do and did for nugnr without axl. Even though i prefer 06 axl to now he's still the man for me

Axl sounds better on AC/DC because there are a lot, how better to say, high pitched songs - and it’s easier to him to sing them. Look at Nightrain, WTTJ, MM and most of PC - he nails it pretty well most of the time. But when it is time for medium tempo ballads like Estranged or SCOM he just can’t do it. He’s old and seems can’t control distortion on calm songs, only when he need to scream and don’t care about it’s proportion. In Axl/DC, for example, shit’s getting real on Dirty Deeds. So, suppose, he, basically, just can’t do anything about it.

Agree, I like how the Stones perform and enjoyed them in October, but still, they demand much more for tickets. Especially on this summer tour. Guns offers 3 hours show for a half of that price. And the stated problem is not a big deal actually - GNR gigs in live are a blast. I screamed a lot a don’t cared about Axl’s voice cause basically I did not hear it. On YouTube, for sure, you can judge but at the venue it doesn’t really matter. Unless you’re just stay and stare.

And I’m really tired of this “Izzy complaining” thing - he has left by HIMSELF, and clearly said that he DOES NOT LIKE stadium gigs and prefer club ones. How does other’ll change his mind? Only if like in Westworld. And he’s not a soul for sure - left band on its peak due to self-rightness and preservation. So it’s complete ridiculous to demand Izzy at this situation.

Band is cool, band is tight enough, Axl’s not always at form, but it doesn’t matter if you are on a gig, and if you’re not, just wait for an another Houston-Forum show.

I don’t understand that last part? Are you saying Dirty Deeds should be difficult for him to sing and he can’t pull it off? Or are you saying it’s easier for him?

i think at some point the realization hits that ACDC tracks are not in this Goldilocks  range for Axl. You’re talking about covering two singers with a setlist that spanned 6+ albums and so the understanding should be that Axl simply put in more work and got more out of himself playing with ACDC. I don’t buy into this idea that Axl’s voice is so sensitive that a note higher or lower can cause the change from mickey to classic Axl.

But come to the wonderful vocal thread if you’d like to see or hear more comparisons!

Has Axl been reading the mygnr comments because he's starting singing the "That's the spot where you might linger" line aha

Listen to TNT / Dirty Deeds from earlier in the tour and you will hear how much he struggled to put any rasp into them.

By the end of the tour, his lower range had more rasp - at the expense of the very, very high notes and his range overall.

I know it sounds counter-intuitive, but it's much harder to sing Axl's falsetto-style on the lower-register tracks and still sound powerful. It's much easier to do it on the high notes which is why he shines on them.

I can’t help but think Axl’s performance suffers due to the amount of running and dancing about he does, he also looks fatter than he has for a while. Fat 50+ year olds can’t dance around a lot before they are out of breath.   I don’t think it’s a coincidence that some of his best performances where when he was stuck in that chair!  OTGM at Coachella for example was fucking excellent!

No falsetto, just chest and head voice, his head voice is softer than most but now he's older so it's less powerful. Thus "Mickey"

He's everything now.

I think they would still sell a shitload of tickets if Axl were replaced. With another singer they wouldn't be restricted by Axl on what songs to playt. They would be able to play whatever the hell they wanted and the crowd would love it. Just imagine, no more CD nonsense.

Im sure slash would be beggin to do a lot of Illusions deepcuts but that's upto Axl being vocally able to do them. The cover songs need to be dropped, I really don't know what the driver is to play them

Watched a lot of videos from last nights show...some thoughts...I think his voice is just fine and will improve with futher practise, he's a seasoned pro, he knows what he does but it's probably not like he's singing Jungle in the shower everyday. And it's obvious he's putting in the effort for wich I applaude him.

What bothers me more is the click paced production of the show. Videos and pyros should not dictate the pace and dynamics of a live performance but on the current tour it seems they do.

Some edge and rawness comes out in tracks like Slither and SOYL, even though SOYL suffers a big deal from the click too. But most of the show seems to be just going through the motions. And those covers...they just seem pointless. I get they must do LALD and KOHD and even The Seeker makes perfect sense when Axl Rose sings it, but whats the point of keeping BHS and WL? They got plenty of originals better than these.

I saw Axl during the CD years a couple of times and as much as I enjoy the somewhat reunion it's really like night and day, its basically the Slash show now yet Richard Fortus is playing circles around him. Where do people have their ears?

I'm curious to see how this goes on. He's pissing all over any rock singer when playing with a good tight rhythm section, but right now this band is all speed and leads and melodies and woohoo but not able to carry a complex and dynamic singer like him. They need more bottom, more edge.

As for starting at 7:30pm...WTF? During the week lots of people are still at work at that time. When in Germany just play Hamburg where there is no curfew.

Guess why they don't do Interviews? Cause its a farce reunion. Duff and Slash has joined NuGuns.

So you got  it right, it doesn't feel right. For me, it felt right when Steven were on drums. Thats the real deal.

Been there too. And I have to agree.

Some minor issues with the echo but it is because of the venue. Have that problem there every time.

And the GNR card (cash replacement) is a great thing to have ;)

You cannot pay by cash inside the venue besides the merchandise. So you have to buy a card for 20 bucks that has the value of 20 bucks. At the end you can go there and get the money back that is still on the card. Or you take the card back home with you (what I did)

I'm still amazed.

Sound wasn't good the first few songs but got better.

Axl still got it. It's an entirely different thing to watch it at home on youtube/on a live stream or to see them life. I haven't seen any videos yet but I've been attentive during TIL because of the shitstorm it got the previous times it was performed.

He did it fine. Rasp was there. Great.

Even when he sings clean some parts, it doesn't sound bad. Everybody was blown away.

Slash killed it all night long. What should I say? I've just read here that Richard can play circles around Slash. Yes he might can on a technical level but Rock n Roll is much more than that.

There's not one single note that Richard plays which isn't covered. Even if you like his parts, they're not created by him.

Needless to say Slash shines on his own stuff the most. His style, his phrasing, his tone, everything, I prefer that to RF any day of the week by a hundred miles.

There's a reason the one is a legend and the other is literally not known.

Frank sucked. Again. Like always.

I agree, when I saw them live last summer it was amazing, YT videos don't come even close.

Aren't you there? Thought you where trying to get tix for the show?

Yeah I was there... I scored FOS 2 tickets for 80€ each... what a party  ^^

But the sound was awful. I could totally hear all solos from slash but Axl sounded so muffled... hell, sometimes I was wondering which song he was even singing.:shrugs:
