OH. MY. FUCKING. GOD.

That is, without a doubt, the greatest nightrain i have ever heard in my life. it literally puts the old band to shame,

I agree with him. There's not a lot of songs that I'd say the new band plays better, but Nightrain is definitely one of them. Every line up has gradually made Nightrain better IMO, and compared to an '86 version of Nightrain, '09 is fucking amazing. It's just one of those songs that the shredding works on.

I agree completely.. Definitely an awesome version.

Went to the show and finally got time to get online and

write what a bit about it. Not sure if this has been

mentioned yet so i refrained from making a new topic

but Axl was very talkative at tokyo dome.

He made numerous jokes, some running

commentaries and lots of comments

between songs in funny voices. Unfortunately

most of the audience wouldnt have understood them tho;( A lot of them were

injokes i think too.

(at one point, Axl announced that Frank was in a bad mood at one stage.. which i think

was due to the crowd not properly responding to the Guns n Roses call)

anyways, after Paradise City and the band had finished taking a bow,

Axl grabbed the mic and said 'We still got some time?'

and then proceeded to do a little rant;) where he

said: This year has been the f,..ing worst year of my life personally,

coorporate shit have people telling me to 'man up to it'

and constantly ruining things for me and you. (or something along those lines)

..Then he thanked the crowd for making the tour happen.

The show itself, as u've seen from the videos kicked major ass.

Axl's screams were amazing, DJ nailed the This I love solo, Sorry was badass,

Better had the crowd jumping, Ron handled all buckets old solos perfectly etc.

And although tickets were still being sold outside the venue at a ticket booth

more than half of the venue seats were filled. (the parts that werent full were mainly

behind the stage and on the sides anyways.. so they must have had 25,000 or 30,000

ppl in the end...much better than i predicted.. so i apologise for making a comment

about them not being able to sell out Tokyo dome as they did a good job of that too!).

Hope there was something new in my post~ cheers

Axl's obviously moving forward through all the bullshit otherwise he wouldn't be so positive

He mentioned legal and corporate pressure to as i posted earlier 'man up'

.. but i dunno what he meant exactly.

Could be things to do with issues we know about

- being blamed for album sales (lack of promotion)

- better video and taking shit from ppl as to why its not out yet (assuming Axl still reads the forums)

- possible loss of the lawsuit re: Riad using alleged copyrighted samples

- not being able to get a tour going until now

He said there was a lot of bullshit involved in getting this tour together

and said it was us (the fans) who made it possible. He also said he

hopes to be back soon.

You know there were a few times in the show where Axl

made comments aimed at the sound ppl ('why is it that i can now only hear my own voice, when i came on stage

everything was perfect!')

and at a stage hand (he actually stopped and said 'the fuck is he?!!Hey where's your friend?!

you dont know, he doesnt know, no body knows!')..and then the guy he was looking for finally

appeared and helped them get out the piano.

Things like this Axl in the past would have maybe stopped the show,

but he handled them really well. There was even a paper cup thrown on stage..

not one comment from Axl about it.

What else can i recall...oh he did a small talk after This I Love where he

said that one of the Chris Pitman's synth parts was nicknamed 'The deer hunting section'

and they had alot of fun during the recording on that one. He said something esle

about recording This I Love, i hope it surfaces on youtube cos i cant remember

what it was.

Old buddy, I hope your rright. this tour, this line-up has a different feel, a slightly more "raw sounding" thing going on. I love it. I miss robin but I still love it. especially since axl hooked up with yet another Indiana brother to handle the riffs and solos. My personal shangri la would be axl, dj and izzy or even paul to rock out together once or twice on this tour. they should just make that happen. And then of course on top of that they could bring it all back home to indiana for 1 freakin concert. yeah right :(
