Slash's Third Album - "World On Fire"

I just want to take a moment and praise Slash's solo, after just working on learning it on guitar. It's the sort of spazz out solo I love from him. There are licks that aren't played on any particular time with the song but somehow catch right in at the right moments, almost rabid studdering into a crescendo of a classic blues lick which then ends on a tire burning skid of descending high note bends topped with his patented 12th fret B and G string bend.

Outside of the soaring classic solos of November rain, estranged, and don't cry, these nothing held back spazz out solos are my favorite from Slash. Completely fits the pace of the song.

Good for you man!!

You must be a savage guitar player. I completely agree with you; Slash rides the beat sometimes and appears to drift off time only to catch the beat perfectly again. He plays solos like Frank Sinatra sang, riffing over the back beat almost to the point of clashing but swooping back into time at the last millisecond.

That's a skill you're born with that cannot be learned.

Teejay is a great guitar player.

I agree as well, the solo and outro are great.

I love almost everything about this song except the chorus.

Such a fucking chunky riff and Myles sounds excellent. Can't wait for this album, I'm really digging the single. Solo is dope too.

Best thing about the video were the tits at the end. Kind of like a bad "Smack My Bitch Up" otherwise...

Ok guys bad news, no "real" music video planned for the single "World On Fire", just that lyric video ! damned ! <_<

Why is it bad news? that video they made is bad ass.

People want instant gratification. Who the hell can say a song is good or bad after lsitening to it once? Some of the best songs and albums are ones that grow on you. That is how I classify this song. It gets better every f'n time I hear it. I am not a huge Myles fan all the time but he sounds good on this track.

I actually wasn't crazy about the mix even on headphones. Wayyy too much bass on the bass drum kicks and reverb on the drums dates it bad. The mix sounds like what the producer thought an 80's guitarist would want to sound like. Guitars could be much higher in the mix
