Guest NGOG
I really like the early, grittier version of the title track - but any version is enjoyable live. Especially with the production that goes into the intro part of the show.
Coma16
I wonder if they'll ever play it again without the intro.
EvH
I loved the early versions, circa 2001-2002. Very raw, not as layered as the final one.It doesn't translate well in a live setting anymore, I think.

Mendez
It doesn't sound good live because he never done the way how it is on the album. He always sings the note too short."Gon finda fahysolf" And he doesn't sing the last word angrily.("out of time")
RussTCB
Boston MA 12.2.02 I've always liked that version too because of how the bass and one of the guitars drop after the "You think you got it all locked up inside" line. I did a remix of the studio version a year ago or so and made that same part happen. Ended up sounding pretty cool.
D-GenerationX
RIR III A tight, 3 minute rocker. None of the nonsense.
LuanVictor
HOB 2001 or Boston 2002.
maynard
01-02 - more punkish, without the lame and useless intro.

RandallFlagg
The riff is glorious, just a simple power chord nirvana-esque drive with a similar dynamic as the great trio. The ending is a real rush too, something about Axl's live vocals sound nasally during it though, I know he gets warmed up but seeing it mid-set without the intro when he's in his stride would really rock. themadcaplaughs
I loved watching the 2002 version and seeing how Buckethead's solo would change from show to show.
Yesterdays-Civil-War
Chinese Democracy was a good Finck/Bucket song. BBF and Ashba sound like shit when they play it in comparison.Had CD (the album) been released in '99 or '02 we would have a better studio version than what we got in '08. JimMorrison4
The 01-02 versions are much better. Now, he sounds like he's trying to shit while singing it.
SlashisGOD
Watching the 02 videos and listening to the bootleg from New Years 01 just reaffirms my position that Axl is the king of missed opportunities and wasted years. He could have had huge success again. Edited April 30, 2014 by SlashisGOD
DR DOOM
01-02 versions for sure, probably RIR.I really dislike the version on the album (Ron and Frank's additions) and the teaser intro should be dropped live (goes doubly for WTTJ)
Mendez
I like the antiquiet version without axl's overdub or franks stuff. Can't notice bumbles contributions apart from the verse which I'm fine with
