I figured they'd never play it, cuz that's some absolutely sick vocals for any mortal man. Anyone talking shit on Axl's performance tonight can fuck off and die, and your corpse be dragged down the Vegas strip behind Axl on Dave Grohl's throne... And fuckin Slash man- so awesome! Almost every fuckin note was almost perfect all night! I couldn't ask for much more considering all the circumstances surrounding this show! Popular Post action Posted April 9, 2016 Popular Post Share Posted April 9, 2016 first of, the CD songs sound great with slash and duff. they have some rock n roll flowing through them, which was sorely missing on the album versions. the albums versions sounded too tinkered with, too calculated. but deep down i knew they were great songs. seems with slash and duff they finally sound like they needed too. chinese democracy starts now. Axl performing with a broken foot, is pure rock & roll. they promised to deliver the most chaotic tour of 2016, and they weren't lying. corey taylor better retire like he promised cos it's hard to top this. also those who criticise Axl's voice: it's your right to do so, just as it's my fucking right to give you the finger. you dont belong here. Axl sounded studio quality on it's so easy, civil war and brownstone. koldweather Posted April 9, 2016 Share Posted April 9, 2016 (edited) Knocking on Heavens door and Nightrain, Axl sounds pretty good on both of these tracks IMO, a nice balance between full blown rasp and clean, with a heavier leaning towards rasp. Edit - In fact it is mainly rasp in this video, go on people, moan about Axl's voice in this clip, I dare you!! Amir Posted April 9, 2016 Share Posted April 9, 2016 (edited) Big thanks to @axlrosefan4life for his livestream, great stuff, I woke up a bit late so I caught the end of November Rain (fucking awesome seeing Slash play those solos again) and am going through the rest of the set now. For me the highlight has to be Slash playing ChiDem songs; never thought I'd hear that! His take on the TIL solo sounded very Santana-esque to me, I dug it, and the new intro to Better is neat, though his solo for that was a bit underwhelming. While I prefer Finck's originals, it's great that Slash is doing his own thing the same way Buckethead and Finck did with his solos during NuGNR's time, much better than Ashba's attempts at Finck's solos. Hearing Coma was a trip. Slash & Fortus sound great on Wish You Were Here. Thought it was surreal how as soon as we heard the news about Axl's broken foot, people were making jokes and photoshopping images of him on Grohl's throne... and there he was What a time to be alive. Can not wait for July when I get to see them! Slash sounded absolutely amazing on TIL. Blew me away! I was standing about four rows back right in front. Watching Axl watch Slash was awesome. At times it was like he was completely in a trance watching Slash play. Then he would bust out in a big smile. It was extremely special to witness. Also, I don't know what people were hearing on the video but Axl sounded amazing from where I was. Lastly, Frank gets a bad rap. Dude was solid all night long. There was a minor hiccup on You Could Be Mine, but it seemed to be because Slash missed a cue. I also noticed that Axl started November Rain a little fast, but Frank brought it back into the proper tempo when he came in.
